    PAPER MACHE RECIPE
    1 inflated balloon
egg carton or similar for snouts/noses/feet
scrap paper for ears, tails etc
paint for decorating - emulsion, poster paints etc
(or use coloured paper on final layer of paper mache.)
    1 cup flour
    3 cups water
    shredded newspapers/magazine/bank statements or bills

mix 1 cup water with one cup plain flour
boil other 2 cups of water then stir in the above
simmer for a few minutes, keep stirring
cool the paste before dipping the paper and sticking it to the balloon
allow your creation to dry before painting it
pierce top to burst the balloon and cut the slot for feeding in the money
I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Frugal living challenge - living on little in 2025 while frugalling towards retirement.
  • Hi Guys!

Not been on for a couple of days, glad you're feeling a little better mumzy, (((big hugs))).

NYK, do you know what you've started with the paper mache revolution!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
It's like Animal Farm, they're going to take over the world!! You should print the recipe and designs and charge for it, you'd make a fortune!!;)

My youngest is still attempting to paint her pig, the paint we had was too thin and the newsprint is STILL showing, must get some emulsion out of the shed.....

Stuntman, Nativity is always tiresome unless you know a particularly cute child with a leading role to give it the AWWW Factor. A few years ago my youngest ws told to be a star (chorus) but cried because she wanted to be the donkey!!!! She didnt want any other part, not Mary, the angel,...The Donkey!! After 2 days the nursery teacher took pity and drssed her up in a brown outfit, complete with ears and a tinsel lead rope and she looked most adorable and almost brought the house down (well, how often do you see a donkey stand on 2 legs to see over the inn door and listen to Joseph's chat with the innkeeper!!) Happy days...
