Can i join???
It sounds like fun.
Will we have to fill the sealed pot every week? Or is there no limit of how often you fill the pot?
I'm hoping for £800. :j
I know i may be a bit of a pain asking questions but will we have like a specific thing to spend/save it on/for??
Thanks
..xxI am only me, no pretences, no second guesses.. It's the best I can do, I'm sorry if that's not good enough for you... I'm sorry I'm not good enough for you :A0 -
Hi everyone and a very warm welcome to Dizzie77, flying_fresian, Coolmum66, flubberyzing, mai_tai, edinburgher, lingojingo, sel_chick, ALR, bestpud, dND and last but not least JordanShannon! :j A lovely lot (13) of great new members today and good to see you all. On Tuesday you'll see your numbers on the new thread. Where applicable your Targets have been added.
To answer one or two queries:
1/ You don't have to put a Target at all if you don't wish to, just wait and see at the end of the year by all means - I have this year. If you don't meet the target you set, it doesn't matter at all.
2/ You can put money in your pots whenever you wish to, some of us can only put a few pence each day or each week, whilst others manage a couple of pounds, but then we may go for a couple of weeks without being able to put any in. If you have change left after you've been shopping - stick it in the pot! Why not, it won't be missed. So it's all entirely up to everyone to please themselves, but to save all you can for YOUR sakes!
3/ Really it's a challenge to see how much we can save in a year for Christmas - but - this year we've had some members who needed theirs for bills and I'd far sooner they take it out for that rather than pay more interest or miss a due date.
4/ Mainly we save for Christmas - but - again, if you wish to save for something special then please do so, the most important thing, to my mind, is that we're saving ...and hopefully not tempted to take it out unnecessarily - hence the "Sealed Pot Challenge". If anyone has any other queries, then please sing out ....though not too loudly, you might shatter the pots!
Well done for sealing it well whitewine! Thanks for the reminder (if one was needed!) mickey mouse.Yes, Mcjordi, I've altered yours ...though I swear you're taking the mickey again!
:rolleyes2 The best of luck for your target Kaz! Good to see you back again 98sidney and you've not long to wait now! :j
Hi Surfbabe and thanks so much for that, to be honest it makes a lot of sense, many thanks! We're up to 70 now!!! Hi Nyk - and NO..NO..NOyou can't open your pig now! As Molly (such restraint Molly!!!
) says you have to wait for those last hours!!! Though one thing she and I will both agree on is - whooopeee!!! You're staying with us!!!! Thanks for listening to all our pleas! :j
For anyone wishing to have a go at making their own pig, cow, penguin out of paper mache the link to Nykomedia's "recipe" can be found at the bottom of the page here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.HTML?t=605703&page=30
OK folks, it's the last day of grabbing all you can as it's....... the final countdown _party_
Don't forget to beg from OH's and flutter some eyelashes ....you too stunty! :kisses2:

Hi, I would like to join in next year too. I am in the process of making my cash pig. Last coat of paper going on today and then just the painting to do. £500 would be great to help pay for next Christmas.

Molly - if i can get the ring off her finger and near a camera i'll certainly get you photos! and thanks for the congrats!
A good Xmas tree does cost, but in the long run will save you money as they last for years! Mine cost £100 3 years ago, but it's awrsome and will last for at least 10 years or so.I am one of the 63336.'It is better to have lived one day as a tiger than a thousand years as a sheep.'
