My New Getting rid of unsecured Debt in 2008 Diary

  • I was just reading through some 'Challenges' threads that I have signed up to, I've pledged to try to pay off £11.5k worth of unsecured debt by the end of 2008, now that is a lot of money and I'm really focused and determined to do it.

Now if we were to hit the target, I've made an agreement to myself that the year after that I will try to save the same amount and get our loft converted, instead of overpaying on the secured debt, the reason I want to do this is we only have 2 bedrooms and as we are having a girl, she will need her own room in a few years, it would be nice to have an extra bedroom, not to mention the equity we would benefit from.

That will be my target for 2009 :rotfl: best get my 2008 target started then.

    xx

  • I know I'm jumping the gun a little here, but as I've already got all this years Xmas sorted, I thought I'd pre-plan next Xmas :o , I've drawn up a budget of £850 and plan to reach this through daily clicks on cashback sites and sales made from Ebay and Amazon, I got the idea from EagerLearner's Earn £2 a day and the Free Xmas threads.

It would be so cool to be able to pay for Xmas next year purely through free money, I really want 2008 to be our year!!

  • Don't worry about threadjacking hun, you can repent your sins on my thread anytime.

Baby is fine and well, likes to put her bum right under my ribs, with my son it was always his feet. I can't believe that this time in 2 weeks she will be here, I'm so excited, I've been given loads of baby clothes so I wont have to clothes shop for the first year, lol.

Thank you, I love freebies and to get all these gorgeous baby girl clothes that have hardly been worn is a god send.

I hope I have the right approach regarding my dfw journey, it's brilliant when I put it down on paper or vocalise it, but putting them into action is a little harder, I see it as like kicking a habit, I just have to learn to not spent money willie nillie.

  • I've paid £63 towards my Alliance card, it wont bring down the balance an awful lot but every little helps yeah!!

I got a payout from Quidco £12.85, but I needed this to buy the rest of the things for my hospital bag, I'm still waiting for over £200 so hopefully I can use this towards my debts.

Plus thinking about it, next year my Tax credits and child benefit will go up so that will be more to put towards my debts :D
