I told you your options earlier , nothing has changed apart from you acted promptly on one option and are hoping that it is successful , the other options are pending and time dependant

The appeal on the PE website goes in on day 26 following the date on the ntk , not before , so check a calendar to see what that date is

- Sorry if this has already been advised: but since I did not receive a windshield ticket but a letter in post - does it still mean I appeal only on day 26 and not before the 14 day bribe/discount deadline?
Unfortunately on ParkingEye website - vehicle invoice status in still showing as OPEN and not CLOSED/CANCELLED, so not sure if the person at Asda have done their side as they assured me.

- Went to Asda today. Customer service desk phoned their manager who said they will do for one time only but they will record vehicle registration number on their database so we cannot apply for this parking gesture again nationally. The person at customer service desk took the parking charge notice and said they will get this cancelled today. We asked if we will get something in post as confirmation, the person said No.

We are going on holiday later next week for quite some time - so should we assume that this has been taken care of and move on, or is there a way to get confirmation that parking charge notice has been removed?

So, although at first sight it looks like the car was parked for quite a long time, your opening post makes it clear that you were just the sort of customers they want to encourage and parking that day was a bit of a nightmare.

Having visited the store to complain, you were, effectively, chastised. Even worse, it would seem that the promise that the PCN would be cancelled has not been acted on.

The apparent cancellation process was opaque and rather complicated. It came with a patronising 'warning' that the vehicle registration number will be recorded for all time which suggests that Customer Services didn't really listen to the back story or value your custom. You were not even given the security of written confirmation. And after that humiliating little episode, it would now appear that you are back to square one as the charge does not seem to have been cancelled at all!

For heaven's sake! Customer Services are taking the p*ss. Contact their CEO and sock it to 'em straight away:

Totally agree with MistyZ- you are being treated appallingly and they are making a loyal customer look like a petty criminal. I would complain to the CEO as above- keep messaging until you get a response.

We got one in ASDA a few months ago.
I went into the store to complain. The on shift Duty Manager said there was nothing he could do as it wasnt ASDA's land.
I went back in a couple of days later and spoke to a different Duty Manager who went on the computer and cancelled it there and then with no problems at all.

roger.burnley@asda.co.uk Dear Roger, I am afraid that neither me, my family nor friends can continue to keep shopping at ASDA if every shopping bill comes with a £100 surcharge. Other supermarkets are available!

"The on shift Duty Manager said there was nothing he could do as it wasnt ASDA's land."

this is a well known Asda 'fob off' from staff who can not be bothered ... or have been instructed to lie.

If that's the case, why are ASDA contracting with PE, because it's no one else doing it? Just look at the on-site PE signage, it's even in Asda corporate colours!

ASDA managers have direct access to the PE computer system from their desktop PC to enable them to cancel PCNs. How do I know? Because my local ASDA manager, with whom I have a nodding acquaintance, told me in person.

How can a retailer who can only rely on customers for their survival possibly allow a third party to take significant money from them which could otherwise be spent in store? Economic and PR madness!

I wasted my time when I dealt with the customer service desk at my local Asda a couple of years ago , despite what head office in Leeds told me after I raised an online complaint

I complained again to head office who contacted the manager , their lackey contacted me and was no help at all

Then I was contacted by the under manager who understood the problem but had no power to fix the issues

Head office sorted me out by adding my vehicle to a whitelist , supposedly for every UK Asda store , we shall see

My point ? Contact the CEO and/or raise an online complaint on their website
