  • Morning,

Hope everyone had a great Christmas? Mine was good although I've avoided ringing my mum :o

The potential job was a no go in the end, they filled the vacancy quick.

I've been busy trying to make plans for January and for 2020 in general, but need to finalise them before I publish them.

We got a letter from BC yesterday with some offers, one interesting one is a money transfer offer 0% interest until 1st Jan 2022 with a 4.3% fee. Told DH I'm tempted to go for it to clear the OD, he's reluctant as he said we'll be straight back into it again. I've told him not if I reduce the OD totally. I've got until January pay day before the offer expires so plenty of time to work on him lol

It would mean the debt increases but I'm thinking in the long term it might be worth it.

My work laptop has died, so I need to nip to HO next week before I go to site to pick up a spare one. It's a beast of a laptop but they won't supply me with a new one as I'm only agency.

I weighed myself the other day....not good....need to lose an arm and possibly a leg to get to the weight I want :rotfl: something to work on next year
  • That's a shame about the job. I'm sure something will turn up.

Have your habits changed enough to not build up more OD debt? That might be the reassurance and proof your hubby needs.

The overdraft is still debt and would be increased by the transfer fee. I'd do it and reduce it considerably to between 100-500 (preferably the 100) So if it is used you stand a chance of getting out of it easier.

  • I'm glad you had a good Christmas Purplemum. Was it just you, DH and the DC for Christmas?

I think getting rid of the overdraft sounds like a good idea as overdrafts are expensive.

They have and are getting better. The main problem is that we are so deep in the OD that when it's payday it doesn't make any difference but DH can't see that.

I got the fee wrong, it's 2.4%, rechecked the paperwork.

I've said to DH that I wouldn't totally get rid of it....yet, there would always be an initial £500 buffer until we don't need it any more.
