So I have been AWOL for approximately two months, I really needed the space and my head just wasn't in the right place to post on my diary, although I did have a small stint on Instagram.
The title of my new diary comes from the song by Maren Morris from her new album.
Time for an update.
The Good
The debt is reducing :j
We have hit the £13K mark
DS finally seems to have gotten his act together with school
The Pots are going well
I'm rarely spending on lunches at work
The Not So Good
DH is still with the company he hates
DH has been having health problems that are now been looked at by a doctor
I'm still looking for a permanent job
Not really done many surveys
Pots
I have had to alter my pots as something's weren't working and needed a serious adjustment.
I now have the following Pots:
Household
Gas & Electric
CC Overpayment
Cars
Emergency Fund
DD's Travel
Christmas Fund
The Overdraft
For the time being, we are leaving the OD as it is at £1700, although the aim was to reduce it further by Christmas, this isn't feasible at the moment.
Once the CC's have been even more reduced I will restart the OD one again.
The Other Stuff
DD has started her Options this year and has taken it like a duck to water.
DS although isn't going to get the grades we knew he was capable of getting, he seems to now be buckling down and should get enough decent grades to do an electrical apprenticeship that he wants to do.
DH for the past few weeks has been complaining of a tight chest on and off. Cue hospital dash and now with Dtr's. Dtr is sure of high blood pressure but is also concerned there is something cardiac going on with him, so a barrage of tests taking place over the next few weeks.
DH is waiting on an answer for a job interview he went for a few weeks ago. I'm hoping that the result will be a good one (fingers crossed!) It does appear to be stressed related and if he gets the job, I'm hoping it will ease for him.
The Debts
I haven't forgotten, I just wanted to write down the above first!
The debts currently stand as follows:
MBNA: £4200
Lloyds: £8400
Barclaycard: £350
Grand Total: £13,000.00
I will dig out my old diary and find out what we started this year on so I can find out how much it has reduced by.
So there you have it....The Bones of it.

Good to have you back pmo2, sorry it's been such a stressful time and hope dh gets the treatment he needs and the job to help with his health.
Glad the kids are OK!
Good to reassess and restructure the finances that's why I started a new diary too, by the time I pay off the credit card I might have changed my mind a million times about what to concentrate on next.
Hope you're looking after yourself too, H x0 -
Thanks Huggle.
DH still hasn't heard anything regarding the jobWish they'd hurry up!
I'm ok, just bumbling along. I finally finished my tapestryand started on another one, this one will take me a good number of years to complete.
My aim at the beginning of the year was to get to £10K, this won't be happening but we should be about the £11K mark, which will be good enough for me0 -
Things coming up in October
SiL Birthday
BiL Birthday
DH blood pressure monitoring
DH rapid heart clinic
Holiday 31st Oct and 1st Nov
October Goals
I have been neglecting these, so need to get back on the wagon again.
AFD's - Aiming for 10
NSD's - Aiming for 10
Read my book - I got in to it and not touched it again since
Groceries - Main bulk bought, just need to top up
LTW - Aiming for 17, one down - 16 to go
Meal plan - Haven't done this yet
I also need to take one of my tapestries in to be framed for MiL's 90th birthday, it was DH's suggestion, so I'm going with it0 -

I was told that the plan should be no more than 5-6 items, any more than it is overwhelming and any less and you have nothing to aim for. I have done this most of my life, sometimes it works and sometimes 'life' gets in the way and the plan doesn't happen.
I have thought for sometime about where I want to be financially and I have made my plan and finalised it.- All annual bills paid in full each year
- All debt paid off – Aim 5 years
- Money in savings
- Overpay mortgage
- Budget better
DS will be coming up to 20 and DD will be coming up to 17 by then and I don't want this to carry on, I'd like for us to help them financially if and when they need it.
My personal six year plan is a lot different but moving house was on it and that has happened, so that is going the right way.
Just posting this here so I remember what my long term goals are.0 -

DH's Nicorette
DH's contact lenses
Diesel
DH's travel
Kids pocket money
Kids lunches at school on Fridays
My £10 allowance per week - £2 allowed per day
Weekly food shop/top up shops
Putting this here so I remember too.0 -
good luck on your journey, hope DH gets sorted soonWhat’s meant for you will not pass you 😃
A fool and his money are soon parted!
use it up, wear it out, make it do or do withoutEF -£860 Total debt - £2070 (DF March 2020)
Clubcard-£10.50, coop card £15.63 Surveys cash- 8.940 -
Afternoon (just!)
Really hoping DH hears about the job today, three weeks ago he had the second interview and he is perfect for the role.
DH has an ECG and a blood pressure test this afternoon. He's complaining that his chest is tight but has convinced himself that it is all in his head **rolls eyes**
Need to nip to Asda during lunch and get some diesel and some other bits. Will do a proper shop tomorrow.
I've got a cuppa soup and some bread for lunch, so cheap and warming.
One of the site managers bought breakfast this morning, so should be a cheap day
I need to sort out my list for this weekend, which I post once I have it together.0 -
Good to see you again.
Hope DH hears soon and his tests go ok this afternoon."If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney0 -

Heard from DH and all the tests were normal....the doctor said that it seems to purely be stress. When he queried why his chest hurts still, she said that stress can manifest in strange ways. She still wants him to do the two other tests so that they can rule them out.
That is a bit of a relief....just need him to get that job now!
Weekend tasks- DD swimming
- Change our bed
- Housework stuff
- Read my book
- Do my tapestry
- Food shop
- Sort out Car Insurance for me and DH - Renewal up 22nd Oct
- Meal plan for the month
- DH has a form for HMRC to fill out
- Get ready for work
- Sort kids homework out
I'm sure there's more to be added but will see how that goes.0
