NowTV land line and broadband

Hi everyone,
Does anybody have recent experience of NowTV landline and broadband? I'm currently paying £23/m for landline only with the Post Office (anytime calls and limited mobile calls included), but NowTV are offering £18/m plus cashback via Quidco for the same service, plus broadband.
However, I've seen some bad reports on NowTV from earlier in the year.
All I really need is a landline provider, but they don't seem to exist anymore.
Can anyone help?
Many thanks

I don't recall any problems with NowTV BB earlier this year? I've had them for 18 months now and have had absolutely no issues, they were easy to talk to when my renewal came up and when caller ID became mandatory.0 -
That's really helpful, thank you0

BT do landline only .0

NowTV have been very good for me0

Nowtv should basically be the budget brand of Sky who have a perfectly OK average reputation.
If you need a call package then I don't think you are going to get better than landline and calls for under £18. The cashback is quite a bonus on top of that as well.
Of course the post office might price match, though their mobile call package is a bit weird.0 -
Their pricing is "interesting"
A £25/month package goes up to £43.99 after 12 months. Other packages from them nearly double after a year too. Also:Prices may increase and services may vary, including during your minimum term. We will let you know about any material changes before we make them.(My username is not related to my real name)0 -

That's hardly unusual in the T&C's, that said I'm in my 2nd year with them and they're easier to deal with than BT or Sky (my previous and in fact only BB previous providers).
Before renewal I phoned them and although I'm paying £5 more they threw in any-time calls which negates the rise in our case (£25 for fibre). No haggling at all as I was happy with that.0 -
I'm on the NOW TV basic fibre and anytime calls package and it's just gone up to £35.99 (from £20) which is only about £6/month more than other companies 'new customer deals'. It looks like their current offering would be £25 for the same deal (instead of £20).
I'm holding off swapping in the hope a decent deal becomes available from another provider that I could use to negotiate with as I'd be happy to stay with NOW broadband.
In terms of service and fibre speed I've been happy with NOW broadband, about 24 Mb/s but I know I'm a fair distance away from the local DSLAM cabinet.
I wouldn't go to Plusnet if they paid me, awful billing systems and broadband speed dropped by 40% over the duration of the contract on Plusnet. I am 99% convinced Plusnet were throttling my connection as when I switched to NOW TV my connection speed jumped up to 24 MB/s from about 12-13 on Plusnet and has stayed around that speed over the last year.0 -
apparently it doesn't take much to negotiate with nowtv.
Just phone um up and say vodafone do it for £23 and they should offer £24 ish0 -
Getting in touch with Now TV is a terrible, frustrating experience. They force you to use their live chat, which is hardly ever available, and finding a contact number to talk to them about billing issues is hard.
The price increase after the initial contract period is fairly standard, but many providers nowadays contact you when you're approaching the end of your minimum term. Now TV did not do this for me, and I only realised when I had the higher bill through for month 13. I could have diarised a reminder but I thought it was still within my initial term when I switched away.
I did get a partial credit after leaving for the upfront fee I'd paid for the for the last month of service. However this credit has sat on my account for nearly 2 months, and I cannot get through to anyone to discuss why this hasn't been refunded yet. Their online FAQ's and help site is quite patronising and clearly 'budget' as someone else has described Now TV as being.
The broadband service itself was good and I don't recall ever having to contact technical support. The bundled router wasn't great but it was quite small and FREE of course.
If they're the cheapest available to you, I'd go for it again, but just beware of the above if you ever have significant issues with billing or service.0
