Nationwide Online Banking - Worst I Have Come Across

For over 2 weeks now (since I received a Nationwide CC and joined their online banking 'service'), I haven't been able to view any credit card transactions online.
This is a company wide issue, not just me, as they have admitted. There has been absolutely no CC services available throughout this time, such as balance paying, details on credit limit, balance due date. I'm completely in the dark.
I got the Nationwide card due to the 0% currency conversion commission fees. I have many companies in the States billing my CC on a regular bases, and I need to know exactly when these charges are made. Obvioulsy phoning their support line everyday to see if any charges have been made is not an option.
And what's more, you don't seem to be able to pay your credit card balance off by simply transfering money from your bank's current account (either by debit card or bill payment). You actually have to open a current account with Nationwide, transfer money into this account from your existing current account, and then transfer the money from the Nationwide current account onto your credit card account.
What a time consuming shambles considering payments from other banks takes a good 3 days, and then payments to CC accounts takes a further 3 days at least.
Compare this service to Barclaycard or MBNA's CC service, where you simply pay your CC balance off with your debit card and it takes about 3 days to clear.
And, I have had numerous support requests go unanswered. Some as simple as, "what options do I have for paying my credit card bill".
Utterly disapointed with the service, and not being able to view CC transactions for at least 2 weeks (company wide problem), is just shambolic.
I warn anyone thinking about banking online with Nationwide.

Paul,
I don't think this is a 'Budgeting and Current Accounts' issue so much as a 'Credit cards' issue.
Nationwide's site is generally very good for savings accounts servicing - is less 'good', but still obviously better than other banks, for current accounts - and is least good [I readily accept] for it's credit card. I am sorry about your lack of transactions - I was unaware of this happeing myself as nothing has gone onto or come off my card in that period. And both their paper and online credit card statements are not well laid out or easy to read, I have found.
[But I would still recommend Nationwide online banking etc]
Have you either a marbles or Beneficial [both HFC - part of HSBC] credit card? I ask this because (uniquely, in my experience, for credit cards) their online 'Account Summary' webpages show a realtime updated 'pending transactions' total. Thus, if they are charged by any amount, this is added instantly to the running 'pending' total - and is penny-accurate. So if keeping tabs on charges made is your priority these cards have a unique advantage, I have found.
[Hope that helps].....under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0 -

To pay a Nationwide CC as a bill payment from another bank, the details appear to be that you use sort code 07-30-12, acc no 00001604 and the reference which would be your own 16 digit card number.0

I've had no problems with nationwide online banking. All my transactions are showing up on both flexaccount and credit card. The new nationwide online credit card service is fantastic, provides so much information and paper statements as PDF's. What more could you want!
Not sure how it can be described as shambolic. Its quite the opposite in fact, and is perhaps the best internet banking service I have ever seen or used.0 -
Yep I've been with Nationwide for about 18 months now and have no complaints - I personally find the Internet banking excellent!0

I must agree with the previous posts about Nationwide banking online I have

I have to agree with all the above posts, never had any major issues with Nationwide online. It may not be the best, but it is by no means the worst, it is fine.
However am not liking one ascpect of the new online credit card look. Before you could see the foreign currency amount of a transaction and the rate Nationwide applied to it. I can't see that anymore."An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0 -
Nationwide online banking works fine here as well - no problems.
Early last week I paid my Nationwide credit card direct from flex account online and within a day or two the credit card showed as paid.0 -
I agree with Peterpan and libra10, been internet banking with Nationwide ever since they started doing internet banking,no probs...You can if you think you can!0

I didn't realise that, I just checked and I noticed it is not shown on previous statements online, but they do show the conversion rate on the paper statements although Ido prefer to check the transactions online before I get my statement, I agree with you I don't like it either.
All other aspects of Nationwide online banking are good, it's a two minute job to transfer from e-savings to flex account and pay the credit card, I don't see any problem with that personally. I also get money back on my cc as it is a cash reward card, which will be paid to my account in December0
