Nationwide Online Banking - Worst I Have Come Across

I agree with most posts as well. I have no probs viewing my accounts (flex, cc and ISA).0

I used to pay Nationwide CC bill at local office, it was a lot of hassle.
I then changed to paying CC bill from Flex Account and it was so easy.
Just a couple of clicks and it was over.
I have no complaints either.0 -
I also have had no problems with online transactions etc with NW. However, I think the problem the OP has is that he doesn't have a flexaccount, which is where his problems stem from.
Paul N - Is it not an option to open a flexaccount even just to to take advantage of the CC and their 0% conversion fees?0 -
I thought that when you opened an e-account you had to have a flex account in order to use it, I got a flex cash card straight away, don't you have to have one to pay money in at a nationwide branch office ?
I applied for a cc later and got a flex debit card sent at the same time, so I actually have two flex cards, but I only use the debit card, I asked them last week to close the cash card account as I don't use it, but I was told that I can't as it goes with the e-account.0 -

I am a great fan of N/W. Nobody has mentioned the viewing of the daily balance on your mortgage. Great service on the phone & as I am approaching 60 I am heartened by their stance on employees staying in till 75 (is it?).Nice to save.0

Right, to keep you updated on this.
Still can't see my CC transactions online, but after 9 secure messages and about 4 offline messages, I have managed to get some more info out of them.
I just found out today that they should fix the problem with viewing CC transactions online tomorrow morning. Why they have waited this long, even though I have been told it is being investigated as a "high priority" for over a week now, I don't know.
I have also found out that this problem is effecting only some accounts, when in a previous message I was told it was effecting the whole system, which makes me believe they don't really know whats going on.
I have also just found out after about the 3rd email back and forth, that you can transfer money from your bank account to your CC account in order to pay the balance due. However, in their autorepsonse they first sent me, it said that they don't support payments direct from other banks, and this is in their FAQs as well, so something needs updating.
Because I wasn't made aware of this sooner (like 1 week sooner), I have applied for a flexaccount that I suppose I don't need now.
And also worth mentioning, in amongst the numerous messages, one of the reps said they have had a lot of complaints about the layout of the online banking site. Having not been able to view any account pages, I wouldn't know yet!
Just to answer some queries, all I want from nationwide is a credit card to take advantage of the 0% commission on currency exchanges. I'm involved in advertising and use a lot of services in the US. It is essential I see these transactions day by day in order to effectively run my business. Not being able to see any payments has had a dramatic effect. I'm already showing a large negative balance and I don't know who has charged me what.
When someone elses incompetence starts effecting my livelihood, I get angry, as I'm sure most would. It doesn't help when they seem so relaxed about the problem like it's just a minor misshap.
As for needing a Flexaccount, it was never mentioned whilst applying for the CC, and has never been mentioned amid all the emails I have been sent, so I would of thought I don't need one to have a CC.
So anyway, after over 2 weeks of agro, I should have a viewable CC transactions tomorrow, and I should be able to pay the balance by one payment direct from my current account at Barclays. If this happens (and it would seem a big if at the moment), then the service would appear to be usable.
Having got accounts with Barclays, Barclaycard, MBNA, and a couple of other smaller ones, I still remain firm that Nationwide's is the worst for accessability. Maybe if you do all your banking with them, it might be okay, but in this day and age, your online banking systems should work flawlessly together, but Nationwide seem to be dragging their heals.
It's a pity because their savings account rates (esaving and ISA) are pretty consistent, but after the experience I've had, it's the last place I will keep my money.
I will post tomorrow to let you know if I can finally access my account pages.0 -

Hi
Is it showing online though? Thing is I don't have MS Money, so not really working for me, have to wait until I get my paper bill.
However did have a chat with Nationwide today and brought up showing the currency issue. Was informed that a few people have complained about it and they are looking at bringing it back (i.e. seeing the currency amount on screen)."An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0
