login to your Lloyds online account. left hand side theres a list of options, click on "bank accounts" which will open a sub list which includes "switch to us", follow instructions making sure you switch to your newly opened Club account NOT the classic account.
    GL.
  • I've just tried to switch to the Club Account, but there doesn't seem to be an option to switch a joint account? Am I missing something?

You can't switch a joint to a sole if that's what you're trying to do.
  • Thanks! No, I'm trying to switch joint to joint and I can't see the option to add anyone other than myself. I might be being completely blind but I've gone through the application process twice trying to make it a joint application and must be missing something.

I'm not clear as to what part of the process you're at. Are you saying you can't open a joint account (so you've opened a sole account and are now trying to add someone else to make it joint)? If so you'll need to do that in branch (or possibly by phone?). Or are you saying the account is already joint and you can't see how to initiate a switch?
  • Thanks for your reply. We have a joint RBS account which we want to switch to a joint Lloyd's Club Account and am at the beginning of application process. There doesn't seem to be an option to apply for a joint account, only a sole account? At the bit after it has approved me for a sole account it has an option to go in branch to make it a joint account and then commence switch in branch, but surely that is not the only way to apply for a joint account? There must be an online option? So I have discarded application for now. Thanks!

It is with Lloyds, and for all LBG banks, eg Halifax & BoS, from memory.

They used to have a message saying as such at the start of the application. I've just checked and can't find it now though.

Just a tip for the future, if you're planning on doing a few offers you'll exclude yourself from any subsequent incentives if you switch a joint account. Far better to switch sole accounts only, that way you double the benefit!
  • Thanks for the tip!
  • YorkshireBoy is right, I had 2 joint accounts, so to get the switch incentives I made it sole accounts and then switched after a week, this way me and my partner we both got 4 incentives in total. But looking at your condition sadly there is no enough time to do this.
  • You're right, but I can do it with the HSBC offer! Thanks! (And can't believe I didn't think to do it when we switched to RBS a few months ago! I'm normally quite savvy with this stuff!) So I just need to create us each a sole account and make sure they each have two direct debits attached, yes?
