Perhaps part of my post wasn't clear enough - "I've had SOs going out from Lloyds due today and still not actioned! The payment into the account was there at 9am today as intended".

When I checked my account about 9am there was £1000+ in the account. I had SO'd the £1000 from my main account some time ago. So at 9am there were funds in my account, enough to pay the £1000 outwards to the four regular savers. Hence my puzzlement/frustration.

OK, so my £1000 inwards may not have been in my account at the stroke of midnight Thursday, but surely they would have made more than one check between midnight and 14.30?

All my other SO's intended for the FOTM to all my other banks have always worked, so that when I check early on the first, the money is there and the RSs paid! I can't see how Lloyds has to be different.

Anyway I've just checked again and the 4 SO's have been correctly actioned. One to a bank has been received with a 1/11 date of receipt; the others are to building societies so that check will have to wait till Monday.

It's unclear just when your £1,000 turned up in the Lloyds a/c. Presumably some time between midnight Thursday and 9am Friday but after Lloyds had attempted to action the SOs shortly after midnight.

According to their t's & c's they will then try again after 2.30pm. I don't know why you would think that they would make any other checks before 2.30pm.

You say that the SOs were indeed actioned yesterday some time after 2.30pm so it has worked as described in the t's & c's.

I think it all comes down to how soon after midnight the various banks get round to actioning the SOs. If the SO in happens before the SO out then all is OK (as you have previously experienced) but if the SO in comes after the SO out then the SO out won't be paid until later in the day (usually some time in the afternoon like you have just seen).
  • An issue I’ve just ran into, made a Monzo account real quick so I could switch that current account, turns out to switch you need the debit card number of your current account, this has a delivery period of about 5 days so I guess I won’t be benefitting from this switch deal

If you can cancel the debit card once it has been issued (it might not 'exist' until the next day) so that there is no active card on the account then you can leave the card details out on the switch form.

The offer end date looks to have been extended by a week. But that's for opening, not switching isn't it?
  • No you are correct, the date to open an account has been extended to the 12/11. Which means my monzo card should be here by then and I will be able to switch correctly.

Another alternative I found that may have worked, is that I was able to open a second current account with Halifax so I could have switch from that.
  • @Ed-1 I believe the switch service stated that if you don’t have a debit card then not to use the service and therefore I think I would make my application invalid in regards to receiving the opening bonus.

    It doesn't make it invalid.

But as you've seen the deadline's been extended you don't need to.
  • I have just seen that a SO I set to leave my new LloydsClub account on 2nd November hasn't been actioned by them, either.
I checked that it appears on the lists under 'Manage DDs and SO's' and sure enough it is on that list. It's value (500) isn't shown as earmarked either as a pending transaction.

2nd November was not a working day. Standing orders and direct debits only go out on working days.
  • Hi,
I'm new here, but I have a question about the switch offer with Lloyds.
I have a classic account with Lloyds. Today I opened a new Club Lloyds account but there was no option to switch. I also applied for a new Monzo account which I want to switch to CL.
My question is, is there an option to switch to the newly opened CL account, or do I need to downgrade it to classic and then switch it to CL once my new Monzo account is opened?
Thanks for your help, this is quite confusing to me lol.
