    Morning (just!) all.

    Lovely meal out last night although I spent a bit more than I'd hoped.

    Today I have/will:
    * Check banks
    * Load of washing on 30 degree eco cycle
    * One CC statement "arrived" so paid minimum off that
    * Update spreadsheet
    * Check OP/PA
    * Finally do energy switch!
    * Look into home insurance
    * Go to gym at lunch
    * Do meal plan
    * Write shopping list
    * Shop to list
    * Snap receipt
    * Dinner from stores
    * Start new crochet project
    * Keep lights off to extent possible

    Think that's everything for today. Hope you all have a good day!
    Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89

    Afternoon all,

    Our heating is on at the minute!! I've had washing in the house from the beginning of the week that hasn't dried thoroughly and dh is wfh and feeling cold. So the heatings on and the clothes are on the radiators for an hour.

    Other then that...
    * I've done two gym classes and refilled water bottle there
    * I've washed another load on the quick 30 degree wash, needed to as it was the kids muddy school gym kit.
    * checked banking/updated spreadsheet
    * replied to a query on Rm surveys, I'm coming to the end of my current stint on there.
    * ironed a few bits that were dry and needed doing before hanging away

    Still to do
    * peel some spuds to make mash to go with brisket casserole leftovers DONE
    * give the kids a row about not looking after their belongings - a pair of ds1s earphones have gone through the washing machine and ds2 was looking for a specific pen that he wanted to take to school this morning just as they should have been heading out of the door to the school bus. (luckily ds2 has managed to find his watch and coat lost at school earlier in the week!)
    * triage the fridge - make sure nothing is getting wasted DONE - chopped and froze a couple of bits
    * freezer inventory as its looking full
    * check cc statement online for a new subscription that ds1 wanted, if its showing remind ds1 to make the transfer to us
    * may make a soup if I have chance before the kids come home DONE - made butternut squash chili and coconut milk- its a quite a bit hotter then last time, I don't know if the kids will eat it, dh said its great though!
    * sew up another hole in ds1s school bag - actually no..... teach ds1 to fix it himself!! He carries everything every day rather then just taking in what he needs for that days lessons, this is why it keeps gettting holes in I think.
    Also made a quick spag bol to use some carrots/celery/mushrooms and pepper up whilst triaging the fridge. I like having something like this in the fridge for the weekend as a quick go to meal when no one fancies cooking!
    Thats it for now, take care all.
    Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

    So disappointed...thought I could cancel my gym membership but apparently still in contract as when my OH joined on a deal after me it meant my contract was renewed for a further 12 months from that point! which I didn't know, I bet I signed a piece of paper which probably says just that - so all my fault but I wish they had made that clear...so even though my 12 months was up in June, it will now have to run until April. I just feel like I am taking 1 step forward and 3 steps back. and even if by some miracle I was not in contract they expect 3 months notice, not 1 like most places, again it's in those dreaded terms and conditions. well what can I say, that's the rules and I signed up to it. so I am stuck for another 6 months. at £85 pm. <sigh>

    thanks determined new ms. my only hope now is to convince my OH to do a swopsie. with me cancelling he was going to pay full price which he was fine with and he was taking on £25 for DD membership. So if he still pays that and I pay his half price I will only end up paying £42.50 (his current fee) and he will pay what I was paying £110 ( daughter and my fee). so even if I am still paying it will £67 less. since he was going to pay it anyway...

    Confession
    Have not been on here as have not been particularly MSE - although
    Delivered a 17th b'day party for £3 per kid ( it's just that there was 30 of them) And did not get paid for cleaning. Ds did help.
    The big splurge for party was to get pizzas delivered but I heard the approval to my ds when the 2x mega-pizzas showed up. 2 x £18 for 2 x 30 (small) slices.
    Went out w friend, saw a spoken word theatre piece and had a social drink. While this might seem like a splurge it will keep me happy for weeks.
    Did 10 K run, brought 2 extra people or 45 min car ride, so met new people and hoping one of them might drive some other time. (Had to get club t-shirt , but I have been putting this off, and I got a new sports t from 10 k race).
    Today NSD except for a cup of coffee.
    Hoping tomorrow might be NSD as well. Am having 2. day chili for dinner as cooked big pot yesterday.
    But what an expensive weekend, rest of month will have to be very low key.
    Bring on Monday - hope everybody had a great weekend.

    Evening all :)
    Busy day, quick tidy up this morning after visiting a car boot / market, and then we had family round for lunch. Little GD loved helping lay the table (we had white napkins, lots of glasses, flowers, a dinner bell and 5 candles alight no less :rotfl:). Baby GS played up meaning it wasn't a very relaxed meal, DD and I took turns to eat and try to pacify him. I will be really glad (and so will his Mum and Dad!) when he gets past this phase, awful tantrums for no apparent reason and generally cries a lot atm :(

    Everyone left mid afternoon and I seem to have been washing up and clearing up almost ever since! Lovely to see them though :)

    Pegged out a load of washing and it almost dried, as it has been a pleasant, sunny, breezy day. Will finish off on airer.

    I seem to have over-catered as usual, so no, or minimal, cooking needed for the next few days :)
