    Just slurping my 2nd cup of coffee too, DNMS.
    On today's frugal things list:
    *Sort clean laundry ready for ironing tomorrow. Anything which can get away with not being ironed will defo be removed.
    *Finalise next week's meal plans.
    *Write shopping list & submit online grocery order.
    *Make dough for pizza & cobs.
    *Make tomorrow's packed lunch & work snacks.
    *Knit or rather re-knit
    *Test gingerbread gin to see if it's ready for straining yet.
    *Free fitness today will be more garden clearing.
    *Read library book.... am considering buying a pbk copy to gift to my friend if it has a good ending.
    *Do a stock take of my emergency food supplies
    *Sort out my spring bulb order. I hadnt realised they would be sending a free pack as well as the offer of 50 drumstick alliums I was eligible for, so I need to work out how many tubs & containers I need.
    *Continue potting up free self-sown plants as I find them while garden clearing.
    *Check for Prolific surveys.
    If I have time, I will do an inventory of everything in the presents bag, but I think this is more likely to be tomorrow.
    Wishing all frugalistas a good day,
    F x

    Morning all :)
    Brilliant prizes Ziggy :T You seem to be very successful at comps :)
    Fingers crossed re the PPI PF :)
    Narola, take care of yourself, you sound very down :(

    Washing out already as it is supposed not to rain today :T
    Another load in the machine 2 loads dry outside :D
    HG raspberries with breakfast
    Today will be mostly about cleaning, but also have the dog to walk and ironing to do :cool:

    Walked dog
    Did ironing (not a very big pile, as I dislike it and do only what is absolutely necessary). Put away, so it is no longer in the dining room. Iron and ironing board also put away :T

    Gave dining room a really good clean, got rid of some junk and put stuff away. Ran vacuum over rest of ground floor

    Must find receipts from yesterday and record spends in diary. I am not going anywhere today so won't be spending. Done, nothing spent. Also did a bit of paperwork for my small business :A

    Listed 2 items on ebay

    Contact firm that has quoted to repair our camper van awning, to ask how they want it packed for the courier. Oops not done this
    Picked runner beans and pulled out a few weeds and spent plants in the garden
    Decided to tackle food that needed dealing with:
    Washed and froze a bag of kale I bought at Lidls a couple of days ago before it goes past its best - I find Lidls f & v fine, but it doesn't last as long as the stuff from Mr S or the market. Anyway, it will keep fine in the freezer :)

    Rescued 4 carrots from a soggy plastic bag :mad: Dried them and put 3 in a paper bag saved from somewhere. Used the other one in coleslaw for dinner, which also used up the end of a white cabbage and some 'spring' onions from the garden which are no longer springy, but more like little silverskin onions. Still usable though! :)

    Cleaned up the rest of the spring-less onions and put them in a bag in the fridge rather than a messy tray in the conservatory

    Made naan bread pizzas for dinner. Various oddments and leftovers went onto those - only used one between us, the other will do for lunch tomorrow :)

    Used up 2 squishy bananas to make 2 Mary B.'s banana loaves. I will freeze one when properly cool. Made 2 little ones rather than one big one.
    Used up remaining HG tomatoes, the best bits of a squishy pear and various ingredients I already had in, to make a small batch of chutney. I adapted a red tomato chutney recipe, but used ripe red and yellow tomatoes, and unripe green ones, and threw in the pear to make up the weight. Also put in some chilli to spice things up a bit :)

    I am sure there will be more - back later to update
    Quite pleased with today's achievements, for a change!

    Afternoon all,

    Great wins there Ziggy - well done!
    Pf , fingers crossed!
    I too am on my 2nd coffee but it has been reheated about 4 times!!
    Narola, I know that feeling well, for me lists on here always help as it makes me move. Hopefully you're feeling better then you were.

    Todays list
    * remind ds2 to look for his lost coat and watch at schoolcoat found not watch,
    will have to text him break time again tomorrow to keep looking

    * 2 gym classes and refill water bottle done
    * ys brisket into the slow cooker for tonights meal with yesterdays left over mash done
    * coffee with a friend but will pay using voucher I got from tcb done
    * chase up cancellation done, 90 days notice period but that was as expected so no problem and ds1 might start to use the trampoline park more again now I've started the process which is no problem
    * make families lunches for tomorrow
    * hang out whatever washing isn't dry from the airers (ironing tomorrow too) done
    * tweak boiler controls to see if we can get away with heating the water for less time then we currently do
    * check banking/ update cashbook, done transfer birthday money to ds1 doneand remind them to update their cashbooks

    I'm sure there is more but I can't think and I can hear the boys heading to the front door!

    Take care all.

    Hello!

    Feel like I'm not doing very well at keep up this week, and as a result feel like I'm slipping. Nothing big, but we all know how much the small things matter!

    So today I have/will:
    * Check banks
    * Do washing up
    * Make lunch to take to work
    * Make small CC payment (£2 reward from bank account plus £1 from TCB had appeared)
    * Check CCs to see if new statements available yet
    * Update spreadsheet with spends
    * Go to gym at lunch (only one on the class so effectively a free PT session!)
    * Check PA/OP
    * Dinner from stores
    * Sort washing out
    * Wash hair and let dry naturally if time allows
    * Keep lights off to extent possible!

    I've got some bigger things I need to make a decision on (energy supplier etc!) which I must get done at some point soon but won't have time today!

    Hope you have a good day!

    I've run the children to various training today. We packed snacks and water to take with us, I also took a hot drink in my thermal mug (double-walled, vacuum insulated, stainless steel and paid for its self many times over the last 8+ years) each time we left the house.

    Today's list:
    PAD
    Pmp etc
    Make porridge
    Did tiny planned grocery shop, to qualify for "free parking"
    Stuck to the list
    All free parking - see above
    Unpacked the bags when we got home and put everything away, including the shopping
    Dried a load outside in the sun, it's a long time since we have seen such a thing
    WM running now so load can dry overnight on the airer as my Mum has a load she is putting on her airer and is planning to use the dehumidifier
    RM survey
    All food & drink from stores
    Start researching & downloading free education resources for our classical composures lessons, we are unlikely to start before the new year, partly as I need to get organised and we have a lot on between now and the end of the year, any suggestions welcome, this is likely to be a case of me learning alongside the children.

    Morning all :hello:

    Lots of people busy with autumnal prep which makes me feel all warm and cosy. I do like this time of year (when it's not raining!) I too need to get the bag of hats down from the loft for folks, but was thankful I was organised in spring when I washed and put all our winter coats in one bag in the loft which was easy to recover last week. Other plans:

    Check banking, more interest has arrived :T updated sheet.
    Message friend about payment for a small order I did for her
    Portion up chicken that arrived yesterday
    Chicken something for tea
    DH made big batch leek and potato soup, wonderfully autumnal- will be lunches for a few days
    Hot drink for commute
    Walk with pal tonight

    Have a good day all. Purps.

    Morning Money Savers,
    Hoping for another productive day. Today's frugal action to include the following:
    *No heating going on yet.
    *Two baths from one lot of hot water.
    *Bake a sourdough loaf
    *Bring all tender plants back under cover as we will soon have a touch of frost at nights.
    *Sort out strawberry plants.
    *Make tomorrow's packed lunch.
    *Update dfw diary.
    *Cut more herbs for drying.
    *Knit big Christmas present. Must also recover the yarn used in first one - Aaaaggghhh! - but I've already moaned about that in my diary.
    *Fingers crossed that solicitor might remember I exist today.
    *Check the baby lettuces I potted up yesterday are OK.
    Get those cardis on rather than the heating switch!
    And have a good day,
