  • Found someone else in my block sold recently and the buyers mortgage was with Barclays and Survey was countrywide.

Potentially the survey, the seller and the management company did not mention there was cladding or said there is no cladding which happened in other flats in my block, this can also explain the situation where there is mostly no cladding

How did u get on with countrywide?
How did it get on with different surveyor?
You might know who you're talking to, but I doubt anybody else will unless you use the "Quote" button.
  • Hi all, I’m kind in same situation. The developer provide me a certification issued by housing control department of local council. I just emailed this document to serveyor, hope they accept it.
  • Didn't realise there was a thread for this!

I reserved my shared ownership property back in July with an expected completion date of early September. In August I was told I needed a cladding report and I've been waiting ever since!

Got a report in early December but was told that it wasn't acceptable. Got a new report last week so hopefully this one will do the trick!

The seller is pushing me to get a mortgage through a different bank, because apparently lots of other people have completed with mortgages from other banks, and the cladding hasn't been a concern. I've dug my heels in since I'd rather have the report in case it's needed when I sell.

Really hoping this new report will be sufficient.

got a message from our broker
barclays have now sent form EWS1 to be filled by the developer /management company
does this means things may start moving again or it a false dawn
in our case the fire testing has happened in sep but for some weird reason report is not being released
  • My understanding is this will help places with non combustible cladding. If it’s cladding that needs to be replaced because of safety issues, they still won’t lend. I’m not hopeful it will help my situation but will certainly explore it!
