Advisory speed limit?

The OP is concerned, they are getting appropriate responses. Don't like it, don't read it.
Yes but not appropriate from you. Merely sanctimonious.0 -
Oh! Do give it a rest, please.
How sanctimonious of you. Of course it is appropriate to suggest sticking to the speed limit. Somebody thinks it's such a good idea they decided to put signs up n everyfink. These decisions were made by people with a lot more clout than me. Im only reminding of that fact.Yes but not appropriate from you. Merely sanctimonious.0 -

Here's a very simple question for you, one that only needs a yes or no answer. (Not that I expect you to give a yes or no answer).
When the OP was driving at 30mph, were they sticking to the legally posted speed limit? In what way is that relevant to anything? Try harder.
It's very relevant.
The OP chose not to follow a sign that was merely a suggestion and was is no way breaking any laws by doing so.
An MOT advisory is the same. They are suggesting that you get the noted items looked at but if you choose not to do so, yo are not breaking any laws.0 -
At no point have I mentioned the law. It's advisory, I've advise to adhere to that advice. Why wouldn't you? The OP is suggesting that they believe they might not have to and therefore didn't. Their choice.shaun_from_Africa wrote: »Here's a very simple question for you, one that only needs a yes or no answer. (Not that I expect you to give a yes or no answer).

Around here the signs flash when a 20mph sign is in force the rest of the time the limit is 30mph.
Unlikely as dangerous driving replaced reckless some years ago.0
