Royal mail have destroyed my goods!

Been away from RM a while now,so not as up to date as I was.
Loose batteries should have flagged up at the PO given the majority of SDs travel by air.
I believe RM can destroy dangerous items such as yours if sent.
When you advised the PO of batteries, did they apply a label like this? Or any warning labels?
If the PO accepted the items against RMs policy, then I would say its down to the PO to compensate.
I wonder if the PO lady would 'back you up' in sich a scenario.
Does anyone seriously believe that a camera and lens were destroyed
. I recon there is some chap who has a nice camera and lens now0 -
Update:. After a call saying they have destroyed my parcel and I wouldn't be getting any refunds of any kind. I contacted Trading Standards Scotland and let RM know. Today at 15:32pm they called to say they did indeed have my goods and as a goodwill gesture they are sending it back to me.
Will wait to make sure all ok before sending to original buyer and make sure he's happy.
Then we will go after them for compensation via TSS.
What a carry on.

So lets stop the bus.
How are you intending to send them?0 -
Take batteries out and send by road. Not sure of service to use but it will sent again

Update.
After informing us that the parcel was destroyed and telling us that there would be no refund of compensation, we contacted Trading Standards Scotland. Explained the situation and got a reference number.
Contacted RM again informing them that we would be continuing with the help from TSS.... We got a call! Miraculously they did indeed find my parcel and add a goodwill gesture will send it back to me!!
I did ask if they would send it the original recipient but no, to me it comes today (we hope) and we will check goods while video recording acception from post office delivery driver... And opening to check goods are all ok.
Will update again later.
We will however, after the goods eventually get to the recipient.... Be, with the help of TSS, taking whatever action is needed to get the original postage and compensation for this whole scenario.

Can people please understand the difference.
There are no Post Office delivery drivers. You are dealing with Royal Mail.
Also keep in mind you sent prohibited goods regardless of what occurred after.
Your main issue is the Post Office failing to advise you correctly.0 -
And they will get what's coming!

We will be going after the P.O probably starting Monday.
Hopefully they just deal with it in an orderly manner... Probably no though.....
Will update later

Compensation for what? You have the goods back. Maybe expect a book of stamps as a sorry, but you're not going to get much more.0
