Royal mail have destroyed my goods!

I wonder if it's worth asking the lady at the Post Office to write down her account of what happened before Royal Mail get to her.
Also IMHO no point in speaking to a solicitor and the cost of that, if you get nowhere with the complaints procedure then send them a LBA.Thrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End
You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time0 -

No they didn't put any label on it. She did say she would back me up. She's very close to retirement so I think she's not bothered, that's the impression I got. She was also astonished that they have destroyed the whole lot. Overkill I think.
If I need more help can just update this thread?

Its her job to know and advise.
Mail is xrayed and opened as required to meet CAA law. RM are under a legal obligation to ensure they cover themselves to meet that legal requirement.
Its the PO job to advise you on this.0 -

I just wondered if OP escalates the matter and tells RM what the Post Office told him, then RM may try to clarify this with the PO counter clerk. I jsut thought that if OP asks PO counter clerk first he may have the upper hand.
Would that not happen? Would RM not contact PO at all to verify OP's version of events.Thrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End

RM would contact Post Office, not the individual Post Office branch.

Thx all again for help so far... Have to until Monday until they get back to me. I will however go to the post office and ask if the lady will sign a basic statement.
Will update later:beer:

If she realises she may face disciplinary action for giving her "advice", I fully expect her to decline to sign anything at all...Renagadetech wrote: »I will however go to the post office and ask if the lady will sign a basic statement.0 -
Possibly a telling off. Don't forget most post offices are franchises within small shops and 90% of the time it is normal shop staff who are dealing with you on th PO side.0
