tvwatcher:
I've posted what I wrote to Setanta to allow other posters on this (and other forums) to see what the response is....not for any effect on Setanta....more to demonstrate how some of these companies work and their CS performance as an indication of how customer friendly they may be
I have never been a subscriber to Setanta before...because basically I was put off by what I've read in the various forums....thought I might risk it as a free trial....but obviously not for customers in Northern Ireland...unless you know different.... or if anyone here has signed up online using that code....
might be interesting to see if this changes over the next 24hrs because someone has made a faux pas
as far the joint promotion mirror/setanta (who's at fault?) which you lay at the Mirrors feet...so what, Setanta don't want new viewers?...you don't have to buy a paper to get the code....even the dogs in the street know the code!
and finally....I joined this forum in August 2004 and have joined in on many diverse threads....I didn't just pop up in the last month and make all of my (7 yes seven) posts specifically to defend/promote setanta...mmmm...makes me wonderI'm now a retired teacher... hooray ...:j

A bit confused Torby as to where you are going with this,It is a shame that you have not had a good time with this company though many including myself have never had a problem and we are only stating this.
And whether or not we have been here 7 yrs or 7 days makes no difference to our opinion.
I cannot stand sky or Llyods though many would say different, all different views.
Though Setanta at least you have a call centre in your own country and they can understand you.
As I said many of my friends as well in Scotland have it due to the SPL coverage and not a problem.
I know I am not defending them just advising people that I have never had a problem with them,as all opinions count.Just back into comping past few months to help me get over rubbish in life.... won Hotpoint fridge freezer, soda stream0 -
Hi scottishfreebiehunter, to be honest, I am not really going anywhere, I just wondered about tvwatchers posts...we all know employees join forums like this...some in support of their employers, some whistleblowing or some merely advertising...join a forum and only post in support of setanta or impart information about them?...just made me wonder thats all...surely theres more to life...lol...by the way for anyone reading this...I didn't threaten Setanta...I informed them...and why not...surely a response to a valid question says more about a firms customer service than anything?...it seems to me that there's obviously something amiss with this promotion and until a long standing (Northern Ireland) member of this forum comes along and connects using the "simple" procedure that everyone else has signed up with for Setanta...you wont convince me that theres not a problem or a major faux pas...and for information...every other N Ireland customer on other forums has not been able to connect yet.I'm now a retired teacher... hooray ...:j

Torby, if you call 08712 003322 and select option 1 then 2 (customer services) explain the situation and they will manually place you on this offer. My mate just did this and they said they would do it.0

Thanks pjpar1, where does your mate live?....In Northern Ireland?....did they tell him why the code doesn't work for Northern Ireland residents?...why is it manually done when he could complete online?...any reason he phoned the number....no one else has appeared to?....and thanks for joining up today presumably just to help me and others out with this setanta fiasco....welcome to the forum...I look forward to your other posts.I'm now a retired teacher... hooray ...:j

Valid points Torby though I used to lurk a lot and just read until I found things that interested me.
Anyway fingers crossed you get it sorted and get the service that many of us have had.Just back into comping past few months to help me get over rubbish in life.... won Hotpoint fridge freezer, soda stream0 -

For my two-penneth worth, go for this offer, it is excellent value if you like football, i subscribe at the £5/month deal and i would say that it's worth about that.
What i can't understand is the financial logistics, Setanta are paying £2.8m per English Premier league match, with two games each week means a total expenditure of £5.6m, meaning the 2m subscribers are paying £2.80/week each or £11.20/month just to cover the two football matches....... i don't know anyone who's paying more than £10 ........ this is all without paying for PGA golf, Scottish Football, Aussie Rugby league etc etc etc i realise that they have advertising etc but i'm sorry, they must have good bank manager
It will all end in tears one day, but until then lets all enjoy the sport0 -
Subscribed about an hour ago. Programmes still not coming through on my Sky subscription. Anyone else having problems?0

The website is now accepting Northern Ireland registrations for this offer
