Well said. This 'expired' carton may have got missed .
There is a chance that people people those work in the night are already tired, lethargic, and they work to make extra income - of course they could get a little careless too, just like we happen to click website links by mistakes/without paying full attention.

You want someone sacked for what may be a simple mistake? I take it that you are perfect and have never made a mistake in your life.

The bottle/carton may not have been on the shelf for "many weeks".
It might have been found in a stockroom and put in a box/carton by someone who didn't know what they were doing and then transferred from that box/carton by someone stocking the shelves.

I wanted the CCTV showing I only looked at it. It's fresh milk, not long life milk, .

May be it helps if you think a little bit more realistic.
CCTV's in the stores are primarily for safety, security and revenue protection. Not for proofing milk expiry dates or for authorizing someone capturing the same just becuase they own a mobile 'smart' phone.

I would accept nothing short of ten bazillion pounds compensation for the obvious mental breakdown seeing out of date milk on a shelf has caused you and complete demolition of the store.

They can't be allowed to get away with this, won't somebody think of the children/aged/disabled/blind/deaf.

I prefer demolition of the store, but just leaving the milk shelf standing.

  • Tell the store manager, fill out the "lettuce know" thing and mention it there, there's nothing more you can do.
(Although I could be wrong, I often am.)

OP seems pretty sour about the situation. Think they've gone off on one
