A big overspend but this month saw stores replenished, students back to uni with food parcels and plenty of meat/fish purchased.
November will be frugal with the December festivities to prepare for and overall I feel I will be ok as far as the annual budget is concerned.
See you on the November thread.

    Morning all.
Love your recipe for mug cakes Elsiepac!

I'm intending today to be nsd no. 12, so fingers crossed it stays that way.

Also, good news is I haven't spent any money since Saturday.

Meal plan slightly changed as there was so much left from Sunday we had leftovers for D yesterday.
Tonight's it's just 2 of us so might just slob out on the sofa with fish fingers (a fave of Mr van) potatoes and steamed veg. I'll make the tortilla tomorrow as I have loads of eggs to use up and there'll be 3 of us.

Might just do this after all.

Forgot to add spends on Sunday on a bag of dark lebkuchen from Ald1 (accidentally vegan) and a bar of M0ser Roth Sea Salt dark chocolate (also accidentally vegan) - 89p and £1.39 respectively.
Found 82p in my car this morning, bonus!

Made carbonara for tea tonight, I haven’t made it in a long time. I used to use a very simple recipe without eggs or cream as the only time I made it with eggs they scrambled. Made it tonight with eggs and it worked perfectly. DS wasn’t keen as he thought it was too cheesy and I have to agree. I would reduce the amount of Parmesan in the recipe by a third next time.

While making it DS (9) made a batch of gF milk chocolate brownies with minimal supervision which were delicious.

DH wanted some beers to celebrate the start of his hols as he has the rest of the week off so we nipped to the co-op and I picked up 6 large bread rolls, 2 packs of 8 popadoms and a big tub of vanilla yogurt. I will have the yogurt with stewed fruit and oats for breakfasts over the next couple of days, the rolls are for a pack lunch on our walk tomorrow and the popadoms will liven up a chicken curry later in the week with some mango chutney in the cupboard that needs eating up.
