Second from bank - that they will not refund it for me, because my credit cards travel insurance doesnt support that situation like bankrupt... Of course bad to me, i payed for hotel not by credit card, but with debit card..
So im despaired... it seems i lost 432 euro..
We take it you paid for the hotel/travel on a Credit/Debit card?
If so travel Ins has nothing to do with a chargeback.
Go back to your card provider and ask to speak to the disputes team as your travel co have gone bust.
It appears in your case someone has got their wires crossed. But it could be from the way your contact with them was worded.
The fact the company is not longer trading makes no difference to you getting a refund. That comes from other sources.Life in the slow lane0 -

Today I received confirmation from the Hotel that my booking was cancelled. Tonight I'm going to call Capital One and see what they say... Fingers crossed0

I received the email on 13 September at 23:00. I was already enroute to my hotel in viareggio, italy. The hotel said my room had been cancelled however, if I wanted to pay again 1000 euros I could stay. I'm here for my son's wedding. What choice did I have. This booking was made in February and my credit card was paid in April. Is this correct that I have to pay again and try and claim back when I'm home? The hotel aren't being very helpful considering it's supposed to be 5*. Any help would be mostly appreciated. Nic0

If you still want to stay in the hotel, you'll need to pay the hotel.
Initiate a chargeback/section 75 claim with your card provider.7
The hotel may be 5*, but that will be based on their accommodation, rather than being able to assist with credit cards and payment disputes.0 -
I had two separate AMOMA bookings last week. One on the 10th & one on the 13th. The first booking was fine but I was devastated to find the second one cancelled when I turned up at the hotel. I had to re-book on the spot. I have not slept properly since.
My travel insurance company (Coverwise) were not interested - begs the question, why bother taking out insurance? I have started a Chargeback case with my bank & pray that it is successful.
I cannot understand how a company can wreck people's annual holidays and steal their money with such apparent ease. Where is all the money?
As an aside, I found that the booking made directly with the hotel was cheaper than I had paid to AMOMA - begs the question, why bother using any of these third party companies?0 -

I booked through Amoma in August for a stay in Feb 2020 in Rio during carnival.
I have contacted the hotel on 17th September and they have emailed saying hotel booking is confirmed and paid for.
As it's during carnival, and hasn't been cancelled so can't claim back money or indeed cancel as Amoma are no longer trading, I am a bit worried about what could still happen based on some of the posts on this forum.
1. Hotel could still cancelled. I intend to check again before our stay
2. Hotel says it's paid for but I can't tell if hotel has been paid. If they have, great. If they haven't and attempt when we check-in, I doubt we could afford inflated rack rates during carnival.
3. I can book another hotel on free cancellation terms but normally cancellation is only until day before check-in.
Any ideas?0
