My point is you do. I used it to claim for wasted food. Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

It was delivered with damaged doors. I had a day off waiting for an engineer to come and spend 30 seconds confirming the doors were damaged, and a second day for the doors to be replaced.
I now have to wait in all day again for an engineer to probably spend another 30 seconds confirming it's broken (again) and a fourth day for the replacement fridge to be delivered.
Why did you accept the delivery when it was damaged?
I would have refused it.0 -
So the engineer from Bosch has been and gone. The fan isn't working, but it might be a bit of ice blocking it.
He can't (won't) do anything as the freezer is iced up and needs defrosting to get to the fan (it's a frost free freezer apparently).
Bosch say they can't come back until Thursday to check once it's been defrosted.
So I now have no fridge and no freezer.
Been back on the phone to Currys to organise a replacement. But Bosch won't authorise a replacement as according to them, replacing damaged doors doesn't count as a repair!!!
So now I'm stuck with Currys saying there's nothing they can do, and have told me to contact trading standards.
Any advice for my next steps (other than trading standards) to either have the item replaced or get a refund.
Edit: to add, someone with more knowledge than me may be able to answer this; i believe my contract is with Currys, not Bosch, so the fact that Bosch don't regard replacement doors as a repair in their T&C's should be irrelevant.
Currys delivered a damaged item which I had to have fixed. It has now developed another fault, so I should be able to choose a replacement or refund.
Is this way of thinking correct.

Doing a bit more research into consumer rights, I've found a clause stating the short right to reject within the first 30 days is stopped if a repair is requested.
If the goods still do not comply on their repair, the consumer can then exercise short time right to reject by the end of the original 30 day period plus the waiting period.
I arranged the first repair on 16/07 (same day as I took delivery), which wasn't completed until 30/08, so I think that gives me until 29/09 to exercise the right to reject.
Hopefully someone could tell me if this is worth pursuing or not!0 -
Final update on this (for anyone that's interested).
I spoke to citizens advice this morning who confirmed I was correct in my research about the 30 day short time right to reject being effectively frozen if a fault is reported.
Armed with this I called Currys again and after the best part of 2 hours going back and forth with them trying to worm out of their responsibilities, I will be recieving a full refund, plus a frankly pitiful amount for the frozen food that has been lost.
Thanks to everyone that offered advice.0
