Any advice. I raised a formal complaint last week, they have not replied, however sent a threatening email today demanding money and the matter referred to a debt collection agency. I don’t have a problem paying it eventually, however they only gave me 10 days to do so and when I called them before they threatened me with debt collectors at my door followed up with police officers. For goodness sake, I’m moving house today and this is all I need.0

You were given advice......you chose to ignore.0

27 posts in and you still haven't admitted you signed a contract with this firm.
No wonder you have "Debt Collectors backed up by Police" at the door...Locornwall wrote: »I don’t have a problem paying it eventuallyLocornwall wrote: »I’m moving house today0 -
Principles are one thing here, but I fear that they will end up costing you money and a poor credit rating if you are not careful. I wont echo all the sensible (IMHO) advice already provided, but i would say pay the fee to avoid all the issues and follow the correct complaints procedure including FOS if neccessary. If it then turns out that your complaint is justified, some or all of the fees may come back to you. If not, you will at least have your credit score etc intact.
And I will never stand up for a CMC. Sometimes you need to just take a step back and look at the situation from a different angle thoughI work in Data Protection and spend my days dealing with CMC's. Only here trying to help!!0 -

As from post #2 onwards, the advice is overwhelmingly to pay up. Any complaint is a separate issue, though it should be emphasised that a complaint about a seeming failure to provide an itemised bill will hardly lead to a waiver of those charges. Similarly, if a Letter Of Authority (LOA) was signed by the OP then he lost the right to conduct his own complaint alone...0
