I ..... as some others on this forum will some times cover the rear plate on exit. I ... may be just lucky have yet to receive a nice little note from a PPC ...

any way back on topic ...

I don't know that it is off topic. Are you saying that covering just the rear plate on exit, but not the front plate going in, has worked so far?

If I know I am close to the time limits ..... shopping with disabled family .... M I L ......

then a quick check to see what way the cameras face .... (I do this as part of driving into the car park. )

I would prefer to park else where but some times you have to use the scam trap.

The tape is easy to use .... it comes off as soon as the camera is passed.

    Yes it will always work.

EVERY SINGLE PERSON IN THE UK SHOULD DO THIS.

IT WOULD KILL THE LIKES OF PARKINGEYE.

Worst that can happen is that you use the same car park twice in 48 hrs and they do a double dip PCN but they are always beatable!

I'm sorry to be thick ... but you really don't need to cover the front plate on entry?? 'Cos that means that the car the OP tailgated will not get a PCN.

Entry point will be recorded against the number plate, the driver paying for his parking period (say 3 hours), but with no record of exit, there will be the assumption that while 3 hours have been paid for, the driver was attempting to gain more parking time than was purchased - especially if there is no record of departure after 24 hours have elapsed.

There's absolutely nothing to lose for a PPC in issuing a PCN in these circumstances. Unfortunately, the innocent party now has his work cut out to shake this off.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Quite right, the tailgated car won't get a PCN.
