People often say they regret things with hindsight, so project forward to that hindsight.
Compare your feelings if you either missed out on getting this specific car because it's not available, or overpaid significantly and then found out there were loads available elsewhere cheaper. Whichever feels least worse is probably the way to go, but it certainly sound like a sales tactic to me.0 -

You are spot on with that I think when you look at it like that. I guess car dealerships will always want your custom. So I guess they’d always manage to work around something with me.

If he's saying it's the only one then it's likely it's either a cancelled order that's currently going through the factory build stage or a dealer order, both meeting the spec that you want. Either way it doesn't really matter, you wont miss out even if you have to go away and do some more research you can always order another one.Arsenal2019 wrote: »I think what I’ve been offered is the factory order. Because he’s mentioned the “up to 6 weeks” and explained it would have to get transported over, like you said. But SURELY, there’d be more than one in factory order that’s just your standard ford st line with no add-ons, which is what I want (keeping cost down)0 -
Yeah, I think it may be a dealer order as nothing was mentioned about a cancelled order. Although I don’t know what a dealer order is 0

VAG cars come to the UK from Emden, into Tyne, Grimsby and Sheerness. No they don't. Your car was already built and likely in this country when your ordered. If you want a factory built car then the order time will be 6 to 8 weeks minimum from just about any manufacturer.
Have a look at this for some information on the usual timings of that...

It's also worth remembering not all Audis are built in Germany - A1s are built in Spain, A3s may be German or Hungarian, the old Q3 was Spain but that moved to Hungary with the new model. The Seat plant in Martorell to Emden is damn near a 24hr train journey, even without taking the logistics into account.0
