Noticed that if you use scan n go handsets, think they scan at CC prices. I'm going there later on this morning as got £7 off £50 coupon and let you know.no1catman said:It's the same principal as 'conditional spend coupons' - they need to be tendered at the time of transaction. So, with CC special prices, you need the CC scanned to gain access to them. The only other option - when CSD can't help is to have credited as you take the sp items out of the trolley - and return the next day with your card to get them for real.0 -
Because you have to scan or swipe your clubcard to get the scan & go handset your number is already in at the beginning of the transaction so the handset shows the promotional discounts.od244051 said:

If using a till you could ask the cashier to scan the clubcard before scanning any items and the discounts might show as they go along.
Of course if you don't have the clubcard or the App on you when you visit Tesco you can't pick up a scan & go handset or get the CC discounts.0 -
I don't know whether a staffed till would be different but the self-serve tills don't display the reduction until after you have pressed the "pay now" option. It then moves on to show the reduction and you can select the payment method.jon81uk said:

These offers tend to be only on branded items. So it's a bit silly saying that you'll go to aldi instead as they're cheaper. Aldi dont sell those items.0

Tesco had Nescafe Gold Blend Decaf on their promo. It was still 20p more expensive than Home Bargains0

i can’t do a full weekly shop in home bargains. For a 20p saving it might not be worth a special trip.unforeseen said:Tesco had Nescafe Gold Blend Decaf on their promo. It was still 20p more expensive than Home Bargains1 -
HB is close to our Tesco and there are normally things we need from there so it's not a special trip. Small market town so everything close together.1

During the early days of the 1st lockdown where it was the norm to queue outside for 20+ minutes (some supermarkets were 1.5 hour long queue) - some people queued for a silly amount of time at another essential retailer just because something was 20p cheaper there! I couldn't believe people would save 20p to queue outside another shop. Think about it - you had fewer visits to the hairdressers, cinemas, theatres and other tourist attractions so that 20p was saved by fewer visits to the hairdressers etc,jon81uk said:

Found significant savings via Tesco clubcard last few months with £1.00 discounts off coffee from £4.50 , worth buying 5 to ten packs .But like many its now a question of buying the product i need and ignoring prices .1
