Unrealistic asking price?

And while there are certainly unrealistic sellers there are equally unrealistic buyers who want a palace for £1.0

Yes, houses are only bricks and mortar, that's exactly what I said.
However homes are not; I do not have an erotic relationship with property but I certainly have an emotional relationship with my home. I smile every time I drive down my driveway towards the house, I cannot imagine for a second having the same emotional reaction about my mate's place as I pull up outside.Diocletian_II wrote: »The very expensive riverside apartment I fully owned in central London
Of course you did!
Was it this one?

Of course it is totally believable when people claim to have bought a ruck of shares on the one day when they were the lowest they've been in five years. :rotfl:Every generation blames the one before...

Unfortunately, I did not quite achieve its lowest price, which I think was about £5.10. An analyst friend recommended it to me, and I watched and waited for a few weeks, and then dived in. I also bought £100k of Taylor Wimpey shares this year. My profit on those is far more modest, although I'm still about £15k up, including dividends, since I bought. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
So, Dio... How much (just a ballpark) do you have invested in equities?
£200k exposure to just two companies in the same market sector is seriously substantial, is it not? Especially at the same time as you're arguing that market sector is in trouble.0 -
Guys...lets get this thread moved if you are now discussing stocks and shares...
Hardly fair on the OP since their original post was housing related.
But there are a few posters on the boards now that seem to want to disrupt and manipulate threads into something they would rather talk about.

I currently have around £700k in my ISA and trading accounts, and about another £200k in my pension. Yes, those two company investments are substantial, but I made them mainly for income from their high divided yield. The Bovis takeover of Galliford was unexpected, and feels a bit like a small lottery win. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
