I wonder how many months of 2019 transactions are represented in that graph...? Oh, wait. It says at the top that the figures are up to August 2019... Be interesting to see how the full year figures compare, wouldn't it?

And, yes, they're still lower than 2007. But the average price looks to be higher.

No, it clarifies at the top it is the 12 months ending August 2019.

The top graph pie chart is the 12mo Sept 18 - Aug 19. But that'll be calendar years, with 2019 being partial up to Aug.

Even if the flood of sales towards the end of the year (Absolutely worst time to sell a house according to many on here) double the figures, it is still well below peak bubble just before it all popped and the central banks stepped in. What are the central banks going to do this time around?

Gosh, sales in Huddersfield have really fallen off a cliff, halving in the last 12 months.

Yes, it will be unsettling for those who really need/want to sell their house. Sensible pricing is the answer IMO.

Fortunately as prices have risen this year then those who need to sell on the whole will be able to drop their price comfortably.

Main issue will be for those who have not got on the ladder or are waiting for the great crash, they are further from their dream.

Owning such a large depreciating asset is the stuff of nightmares, not a dream. Houses are only bricks and mortar, despite some MSEers loving them more than life itself.

Houses are only bricks and mortar,

Houses are but homes are definitely not; I think it's starting to become clear why years later you are still paying off your landlord's mortgage instead of owning your own place.

You really have no reason to be so arrogant and abusive. Houses are only bricks and mortar, and unlike you I do not have an erotic relationship with property. Other people are not obsessed like you are with owning property. Owning real estate may be the absolute zenith of your life's achievement and your orgasmic dream, but that's just you. The very expensive riverside apartment I fully owned in central London gave me no sense of fulfilment, although it would no doubt be your dream come true.

BOE will do nothing. As the banks have strong enough balance sheets to weather the storm.
