This should fit also then, its a little cheaper and has 3 year warranty.
250gb should be plenty i think.

Why would you buy that??!! What are you thinking??!!
If you really couldn't care less, you can go cheaper;

or even cheaper; https://www.mymemory.co.uk/mymemory-boost-internal-ssd-drive-2-5-sata-iii-240gb-560mb-s.html
Seriously, I don't know what part of "But it so happens that the Crucial MX500 is a very good choice" happened to dissuade you.0 -

May I suggest they were responding to your comment?EveryWhere wrote: »You don't need the Crucial website.Any 2.5" SATA SSD will do.
Sure you said the Crucial is a good choice, but this is a money saving site, and I think the bit I bolded would take precedence. You're giving (or so it appears to me) good advice, but perhaps you need to add more detail. I might even give it a go myself, so it would be good to know what to avoid.0 -

I wrote very good choice In addition, you totally missed the point. If they wanted to save money, why did they not choose one of the cheaper options?
Have you ever heard of Dogfish/Shark SSD? Why pay more for that in particular?
It's not as if there aren't other cheaper options available via Amazon.

I didn't know that Shark was a Dogfish and also a dog! Strange world!
Anyway think i will go with my original choice, Crucial MX500, as also recommended.0 -

You should get prepared for when the SSD arrives;
Do you have a USB flash drive of at least 8GB in capacity? We should create the installation media and use the gatherosstate method to generate a GenuineTicket.xml file. We might need that later.

Why not buy another SSD and install WIN 10 on a dual boot retaining WIN 7.
When switching off it will boot up again in same system used last unless alter in the bias, hence i have 2 keyboards just hold DEL down whilst switching on.
I wont be using WIN 10 have GFX installed on WIN 32 and WIN 7 64 dual boot.
Drives me nuts the WIN 10 on a lappy have to use specifcally to run one programme for business.0 -

One operating system is enough for me really. The only reason i'm changing the set up at all is due to windows 7 end of life in January and may be more susceptible to viruses etc.0
