Only disadvantage is £10 minimum top up which last for 4 months. Effectively £2.50/month. Credit does carry over.
This is what I don't like. When my credit just disappears without me using the phone.0 -

When credit 'does carry over', in what way do you think it disappears..?John_Smith_2019 wrote: »This is what I don't like. When my credit just disappears without me using the phone.
Normal PAYG credit does not 'disappear' without being used up in some way, perhaps you have been buying 30-day bundles unnecessarily..?Evolution, not revolution0 -

Sorry - misread your post.
I've had credit disappearing - ie not carrying over.0 -

With which network? Does your phone have the ability to use data?====0 -

Yes, it's a smart phone with access to internet.
When I asked EE customer services, they said that the internet apps will not be draining my credit as data is separate to credit for calls and texts.
They are correct, have they confirmed you don’t have a 30 day pack active on your account?====0 -
3 PAYG SIM very good for USA - I go 3 times a year, so on average phone is not used for 4 months, then used for a week, then not used for 4 months, then used for a week, etc..
I've had the same SIM for 8+ years. Minimum top up is £5 and when you do top up, you get 150mB extra for 24 hours (they do this in case one needs to load some apps).
Works well on ATT network (much slower on TMobile) in USA - free incoming calls, and to make calls to UK only 3p/min.
I've also got quite a few old EE and Orange SIMs which are supposed to need a chargeable activity every 6 months - used strictly for incoming texts, and with one exception, never had any cut off.
Also have 2 Tesco SIMs which live on, as well as a couple of Asda SIMs.
None of these have any funds - but the numbers remain active.0 -
Thanks for the replies.
I had an O2 Classic PAYG SIM (on a different, basic phone to the EE SIM). That was lasting ok, but it has now been cancelled and is invalid. Maybe because I didn't use it for over 6 months. The credit has just gone I presume. Anyway, I've shredded that SIM and bought a new Asda mobile PAYG SIM. Looking at the Ken's Tech page, Asda SIM seem to have the longest inactivity period.0 -
I would also say Three, but go for the Data Reward SIM
You get 200MB free data per month forever, and you can still access the 321 PAYG rates and 30 day bundles.
Credit never expires, and just browse the web every so often to keep the SIM alive.0 -

That's the beauty of Dual-Sim phones.
(Mine is Xiaomi-redmi-go-16GB-black---EAN/barcode - 6941059620587)
Three "3-2-1" or O2 "Classic" PAYG in one slot.
And "Data Reward SIM" or preloaded data sim in the other slot.
PS
This setup is an "un-bundle".
