@yogavibes well done on the CC use, or lack of it. And fantastic OP's - keep up the good work.
Meanwhile I just dropped £60 in M&S on stuff we didn't really need - but it was my first time in a non-grocery shop in weeks/months so I went a bit mad - oops.Mortgage | Started Oct 2020 £235,875 | Now Dec 2023 £215,439

Just caught up from the last few pages and sounds like you've got a great plan to almost half your mortgage term.
Non food stores are dangerous! I have made a pledge to not buy anything other than food, household cleaning and clothes for the month. Fed up with buying tat because it's there in a shop.

thanks Danni, I've found I am definitely going into fewer shops. That being said I did end up in the yellow and blue Swedish palace on Saturday and got myself an armchair from the bargain corner on total impulse. It had 40% off and I've wanted one for the living room for ages. Had to spend some money from our monthly savings account but am enjoying sitting on it whilst working at home
I had to buy a present for a family member today but did this online from Am@zon which I used to avoid shopping from but since lock down I have used quite a lot. Other than the present (£15) no other spends this week. Tomorrow will be a cheap day as working again a long day. Am wondering whether I need to get my dog one of those cool mat things as she is really struggling with the heat. I'm lovely all this lovely sunshine. Brilliant for drying the washing and the kids have got themselves with friends the best few days. It's definitely making the lack of holiday less of an issue.MFW #69 Mortgage remaining Jan 2021 £221,644; Jan OP £1000;1 -
A mixed day here - started off with a huge hangover after my quick trip to the c@@p for cheese last night turned into a "I fancy some wine and beers" trip. I haven't really been drinking alcohol for weeks and I paid the price for my carefree "it's summer so sitting in the garden drinking midweek is the thing to do" attitude. I was woken up by the sound of a jackhammer on the building site opposite our house. Spent most of the day regretting my £13 alcohol purchases. Then I pulled myself together and went off to Ald@ to redeem myself. I spent £53 on most of the food needed for the next week. Then went to Bee & Mmm to see what bargains I could find (not many), another £6.50 spent on tuna, t bags and juice, then off to S@insburys to get bits mainly for DS1 who lives on frozen meat products
Total food spends from 3 shops = £78 - should be enough for us to last the week. I never go to more than one shop for the food. I use a delivery pass for S@insburys and it's usually about £150 a week. I've been motivated by reading all the boards on here to get my !!!!!! in gear and reduce this. No plans for tomorrow so far. At least I won't be hungover!

Not too bad on the money front the past couple of days. Friday took the kids out for a walk in the forest - total cost £15 for ice-creams and drinks. Managed to get a refund from S@insburys from my last internet shop that we returned items but never got refunded. They refund back onto the account so have booked a delivery for next week - minimum spend is £40 - arrh! so have stocked up on £40 worth discounted household products along with a few dairy bits I can't get at @ldi, to enable me to get my £12 worth of refund off the bill. Made £38 on Eb@y sales
Went to Bee and Queue for the last of the building bits and pieces. I've thought this is the last trip at least the last 4 times we have been. Spent another £68 on, well I'm not too sure what to be honest. Various types of filler I think. OH was in his element as it meant he could get some more jobs done this weekend. Yesterday was a NSD as is today so far. With the exception of giving DS £10 so he has enough to take his OH out for tea. Young love eh? Joint account running very low on cash as £200 refund due 2 weeks ago still hasn't appeared in account. Moved cash from savings to make sure there is enough for food this week as another week to go before payday. It SHOULD be a cheap week. Fingers crossed. The rest of the day am planning on watching some TV with OH and getting a couple more loads of washing done.

This week has flown by. Had to move money from savings to cover @ldi shop today as £200 still MIA this morning. By this pm it is finally showing in the account. So it has taken 4 weeks to receive instead of 4-5 days as promised. I think it hadn't been processed properly until OH rang for the 3rd time to chase. Better late than never. Total spends on shopping for the week £71 in @ldi today and £32 from S@insburys due tomorrow (cleaning products so I can use my money off coupon on the delivery). I've received a booklet of nect@r vouchers through the post today - I'm assuming this is due to me not shopping a full shop there for the past few weeks. They all require a £100 or more online shop to use so not sure if it is worth the points as I would need to spend quite a lot to get the offer. Just had a lovely BBQ for tea with OH and the kids. We have a cake that DD made earlier to have a bit later with a cuppa - lovely. DD has been out at her little job again today. V proud of her earning some money doing the holidays. I think all the kids are ready to be back at school. Did a check on what uniform we still need to get. Ordered DS 4 pairs of shorts from @sda for £18. Had to get DD shirts from M@S as sold out in her size in @sda - serves me right for being a bit late sorting them out - along with a pair of shorts total with postage £23.50 so not too bad. DS will need shoes as he seems to be growing overnight everyday at the mo. The other two still have footwear from March that will do the trick. So all in all not to spendy compared to this time of year for me. This is my last year of needing to get all 3 school uniforms - hooray! I have a few days off work now so thinking of doing a bit of decorating in the house. I'd like to paint the bathroom and put some shelves up to house my plants on. Have been looking around the house for things I can repurpose in there - OH has found some small bits of wood in the shed that he has offered to make corner shelves with, and I have some wool am wondering how hard it is to crochet a hanging basket from. I'd really like to sort the flooring out in there as it is awful stick down vinyl but no cash for that. Maybe next yearMFW #69 Mortgage remaining Jan 2021 £221,644; Jan OP £1000;2
