Small supplier Eversmart Energy stops trading - MSE News

I've just sent an email to their complaints department, attaching my last Eversmart bill showing the credit and asking for a revised bill and a check for £36.10
Lets see how that goes.
Don't hold your breath. I emailed a spreadsheet detailing relevant meter readings, Eversmart credit and calculations on the 13th Jan and still haven't received a corrected bill.
If your case follows the same pattern as mine, you can expect to receive a reminder letter dated 2 days after the payment due date of the bills you received today. That reminder letter gives the name of their Revenue Assurance Manager so you can mark subsequent emails for their attention if you wish but it doesn't appear to make any difference.
Be aware, there appears to be a significant delay between their dated correspondence and when it is received. My bills were dated 2nd Jan but not received until the 13th. Their payment reminder letter was dated 18th Jan but didn't arrive until the 23rd.0 -

My bills are dated is 23rd Jan, received today.
What action should I take, I wonder, after receiving a reminder? I don't want my credit rating affected.0 -
My Utilita bills for 18-30 Sep and first part of Oct till I switched away arrived a couple of weeks ago. I paid up as the amount was approx inline with my calcs even though their readings were not accurate. For me though, I was in debt to Eversmart (so no credit to worry about retrieving) ......not had any demand as yet for me to pay this (it was not included in my Utilita bills) and obviously not going to chase them!0

Two revised bills were received today for the end of September and beginning of October 2019. These were based on submitted readings taken on key dates so are accurate this time.
Still no allowance for Eversmart credit and they also appear to have lost the partial payment I made last month of the amount I believed I owed them. I thought this strange as the partial payment had previously been accounted for in their payment reminder letter after not paying the full amount.
It's encouraging that issues raised through email do generate a response even if some of the issues appear to be ignored. I'll try again.0 -
Now that I've received my two final bills from Utilita, which match my calculations of how much energy I've used while with them, I've just done a comparison of how much more I've had to pay them compared to Eversmart. It's interesting.
For the 40 days I was with Utilita, my total bill was £77.54 and using the same start and end readings, my calculations show that I would have paid Eversmart £69.75 if they had continued trading.
So I paid just £7.79 extra for the 40 days I was with Utilita, or £0.19 extra per day.
I now realise that I was wrong to be worried that I was being ripped off while being with Uitilia.
Perhaps the same thing will prove to be true, now that I am with British Gas as SOLR after Breeze stopped trading. (yes, I do seem to make a habit of choosing short lived companies).0 -
I was with Eversmart from around December 2017 until September 2019 but have no copy invoices as everything was online. I have the start readings and the readings that Utilita started with can anyone supply me with the standard rates Eversmart charged so I can calculate if I was owed anything. We paid £137 per month and as they went bust in September I would have expected to have some credit due from the summer months.

Like many of you I have just received my Utilita bills, indicating I owe £40 for period 18th sept to 13th Oct when I switched. On leaving eversmart I had a credit balance of £105.
I called them today and was advised that they had not received account information from Administrators so could not refund me at this stage....but would as soon as they had the information, but they were still insisting I paid what I owed them. I complained that I had not received a response to an earlier email complaint. She then offered me a £10 goodwill payment and put my account oh hold for 30 days in the hope that it would be sorted by then.....my question is, do I pay the new bill, can I still claim payments overpaid to Eversmart through bank (I claimed back the last payment to eversmart as it was taken after they went out of business)0 -

Although you have no invoices (and you really should have downloaded and saved all of those) you should have received an email detailing your Eversmart plan and the rates that were appropriate, right at the beginning of your contract with them.
Can you find that old email?
If not, it's difficult to determine the answers your questions.
It depends on your tariff name and what area do you live in. Both determine the tariff rates that apply.0 -

Well, I'm not going to give them my money while they take their sweet time to work out that they actually owe me money. Who would be daft enough to do that?
Also, in my case they have accurately quoted my last meter readings while at Eversmart. I didn't give them those. So they want us to believe that Eversmart gave them our last meter readings but neglected to mention our credit balance. I don't think so.0 -
Thanks I have found that email. I was on Northern Glory tariff and started at
Elec 12.81 and standing charge 10.50
Gas 2.63 and standing charge 10.50
Prices were guaranteed to November 2018, anyone know if these went up at that point?
I know I should have monitored it more closely it was one of those jobs I was going to get around to (famous last words!) I've learnt my lesson and am on it with new supplier Igloo but have a bill of £500 from Utilita so would be nice to be able to get some credit off that.0
