HSBC New account

I seem to recall an offer on MSE that if you applied for an account money.co.uk you would receive £175 when successful. Can anybody recall this and if so the details? Many thanks.

  • I believe it's an expired offer now.

But how you've described it is exactly that...
  • Many thanks for your response.

The reason I ask is that I have just opened a new account through money.co.uk but HSBC are denying all knowledge and I wanted to supply some evidence if possible.

Is there anywhere to contact somebody at MSE directly?
  • No you would need to contact someone at money.co.uk as the offer was through them.

When did you apply for it?
  • Mid August 2019
  • That's concerning. I am still waiting for the £175 after opening my account in mid August. The transfer completed on the 31st August so I was going to wait 30 days from then before calling, but thinking I might check now to see if it actually tracked..
  • What did the T’s and C’a state about the bonus being paid?

It would be within XXX days of switch completion.
  • T&Cs said 30 days, so plenty of time yet. Though it is a bit strange if HSBC deny all knowledge, and on previous offers people have commented how quick the bonus was paid. Guess it will be a case of wait and see anyway, hoping for the best.
  • By way of an update. I found an article on the web regarding this offer, forwarded it to them and consequently HSBC are going to honour it and deposit the £175 in the account after 30 days from full switching.

My thanks to all who responded.
  • My £175 just arrived this afternoon, I didn't have to call or chase them either. Very good, way less than the mentioned 30 days.
