I have checked and see nothing to support this statement. However tried to go back into their twitter account to be told it is now closed down. I only accessed it at about 9 am today.

Not available with the welcome home tariff

Although it's not mentioned in my 'Welcome Home Pack' document, I have a copy of the Ts&Cs relevant to the start of my contract and as previously posted, section 5.1 says:

"5.1 If you have a 12 month fixed contract it will remain in force for a fixed term period of one year from the supply start date. At the end of your contract you will receive £20 as a thank you for your loyalty and you can choose to enter another fixed term contract or be put on our cheapest variable tariff and given written notice of this."

If that's in their Ts&Cs, then surely it is relevant to all fixed contracts? Not holding my breath though.

My deal ended on 20th of this month. Haven't heard a dicky bird from Eversmart and I've just successfully entered my monthly readings.

Let's see what my invoice says, in a few days time.

    Bad news guys\
Eversmart is ceasing to trade. Ofgem, the energy regulator, is appointing a new supplier for our customers.
You need not worry, your supplies are secure and all your domestic credit balances are protected.
Pre-pay customers can continue to top up as normal.
Ofgem’s advice is not to switch, but to sit tight and wait until they appoint a new supplier for you. This will help make sure that the process of handing customers over to a new supplier, and honouring credit balances, is as hassle free as possible.
You can find support and advice on the Ofgem website. Alternatively, If you need additional support you can call; Citizens Advice on 03454 04 05 06 or email them via their webform. Advice will also be shared on Ofgem’s twitter @ofgem and facebook channels.

I must be setting some sort of record - this is the third time, I think, that my energy supplier has gone bust!

    Ho hum.
  • It's now official.

Ofgem have posted to say they're now starting the process of choosing the SoLR

A warning to us all about using a small supplier. I am in credit with Utility point for my gas and based on the track record of small suppliers I think its time to move on.

I got out just in time-switch to Yorkshire Energy completed 3 days ago! The Eversmart online account is still functioning, though I expect not for long.
My credit balance is just a few pounds, but wondering whether to cancel my DD, which is due on 13//9, don't really want them taking another £37?
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Each to his/her own I guess but it's no real bother to me when an energy company goes bust.

OK, it may cost me a few quid while the account is transferred to a holding company and then switched to another one of my choice (which I tend to do every year anyway) but overall I'm still quite a few quid better off choosing one of the smaller companies.

Just depends how much hassle you're happy to put up with.

same here......but remember your direct debits are in advance so yours from 13/08 will be used on your next/final bill
