Complaining to retailer

I went for a Nando’s.
Free parking. Didn’t realise they have a 3hr limit. Was there 3hrs11mins and now have a £60 invoice from UK Parking Control.
I called them and they said it’s a private car park and there’s nothing they can do. Tweeted them to express my dissatisfaction and they’re not bothered.
Do they not have a duty of care to patrons?
I was there solely to use their restaurant.

Do they, actually, own the car park?
Is the car park for Nando's only or does it serve other restaurants/shops - like, say, on a retail park?0 -

I’m struggling to find an appeal template for parking not about who was the driver ...0 -

You will likely need to go to the owner of the retail park for a landowner cancellation. Nandos won't have the authority. I'd be asking Nandos who does own the car park.0 -
Go to the newbies faq sticky thread near the top of the forum and appeal as keeper using the blue text template from post #1Katy_roberts85 wrote: »I’m struggling to find an appeal template for parking not about who was the driver ...
Complain to the managing agent for the retail park too
Your popla appeal will include grace periods before and after parking plus other points , download the BPA Cop and read clause 130 -
as above ....... the appeal will not win ..... it will fail ... the reason being that it is a way to show the scammers that your are getting forum help ....
and
get a POPLA code.

Most PPC companies routinely reject the first appeal , but it will get you a popla code
Then you appeal to popla , run by the Ombudsman service0 -
Unfortunately the PPCs do not play fair. Therefore they usually refuse the initial appeal that is made to them in the hope that people will give up and pay up. However if they are a member of the BPA, as UKPC is, they must then give you a POPLA code. You need to read up on POPLA appeals in the Newbies' thread.
Finding the landowner isn't usually too difficult but a little bit of digging is often required. Nandos may tell you who the landowner or land management agent is, just phone them and ask. You could do the same with other businesses on the site. Failing that, google the retail park looking for anything about the 'agent'. Which retail park was it?
A good landowner complaint - firm, polite, detailed, insistent - very often gets results and it's the quickest, easiest route to cancellation. Well worth that initial search for the landowner!
At this point you go in with all flags flying: landowner complaint ASAP while thinking about how to construct a really good POPLA appeal.0
