Met Parking 'Fine'

Evening all, (And my special thanks to Umkomaas for their help).
Met Parking 'Fine'.
Looking for some help as there is just so much to read..
Anyway got home last sat to find a 'parking ticket' issued by MET Parking.
It has our car entering a car park @ 14:19 hours and leaving @ 20:19 hrs. The notice states you are only allowed 90 minutes.
What the camera conveniently doesn't capture, is my wife leaving no more than 30 minutes later @ 14:49 hours and then me reentering some time @ 19:30 hours.
The company which has issued this is MET Parking and the retailer is Mcdonalds. Having spoken to the manager there they state I should contact the company first, but given the disingenuous nature of their parking invoice, what do others think please?
All helpful replies gratefully received. Thank you.
My take on it is I should either answer the firm via their website and explain that this is incorrect. Then send a copy to their association and finally send a copy to Mcdonalds to make them aware.
Any differing thoughts, welcomed. Thank you.

the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread , third thread down from the top of this forum is the only definitive guide on this topic , MSE have never altered their flawed advice for years , hence the sarcastic replies in the thread they moved this from which they closed
read the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread by coupon mad , she has forgotten more than MSE know on this topic, nothing will change until the government publish the new CoP and implement it , following the bill by Sir Greg Knight at which point MSE Kelvin should scrap the previous guidance on private parking charges and issue new guidance based on the new private parking Cop0 -
bulltraderpt, you are right. There is some conflict between the guidance offered by MSE and that offered by individuals on MSE Forums.
It is the opinion of many experts on the MSE forums that the formal guidance offered in the MSE articles is wrong, and has been so for many years.
Despite efforts to get things corrected, nothing has changed.0 -
Thank you Keith and thank you Redx. I have now posted my 'issue' to the correct board and hope it will be discussed there. Cheers!0

My apologies I shall try and find exactly how I go about this... If you aren't familiar with this forum it does seem a bit chaotic. I shall try and post this on the correct thread, if I can find it...0

hi bulltraderpt
As you've found before I could tell you, I have split these posts into a new thread for you. You can click "Edit" in the top post and change the text if you would like to expand on your question there.Official MSE Forum Team memberThis account's Inbox is not monitoredPlease report all problem posts to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
First things first, MET are not a company you should be overly concerned about, they are pretty benign in a litigation context.
To start the ball rolling, you should use the template initial appeal from the forum's NEWBIES FAQ sticky, post #1 which is printed in blue text.
Ordinarily we recommend no amendments/additions to it, but in this instance I would add the following final paragraph, as follows:Please note. What has occurred here is a classic 'double dip' incident, which seemingly your budget ANPR cameras seem to have been incapable of identifying. I suggest you take some care and closely examine your records. For the avoidance of doubt, driver A entered the car park on xx/xx/2019 at xx:xx hours and left at (approximately) xx:xx hours - total time in the car park x hours/minutes. Following that, on the same day, driver B entered the car park at (approximately) xx:xx hours and left at xx:xx hours - total time in the car park x hours/minutes. Driver B was totally unaware of any previous entry, driver A was totally unaware of driver B's subsequent use of the car park, until your erroneously issued Notice to Keeper was received.
As the registered keeper of the vehicle, I reject any liability and require you to cancel this charge with immediate effect. If you continue to pursue this charge, I will report your intransigence to the British Parking Association, and your negligence in obtaining my personal data without reasonable cause (use 'reasonable cause' as it has specific meaning) will be reported to the DVLA for sanction purposes.
I expect no further communications from you or any of your agents, other than a notification of cancellation. Anything further will be regarded as harassment and appropriate legal advice will be obtained.
But, please be aware that this isn't a magic wand paragraph, be prepared for MET not even reading it, and continuing to pursue you, but this is winnable - eventually - at POPLA.
My words above have been quickly 'rattled off', so see if anyone wants to polish them before you submit your appeal.
What is your 28-day MET deadline for the submission of your appeal? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Hi Umkomaas,
I haven't as yet, emailed the company with my response.
But to answer your question directly, it is 28 days from the date of their invoice which is 28 Aug. The date was on the 22 August.
Further, I have spoken to the manageress at the McDonalds Branch and she states that when if the company don't cancel the notice to give it to her and she'll attempt to get it cancelled, via her ends.
I was also thinking of emailing the main branch of Macdonalds UK with my complaint about the harassment etc etc of their customers. Not sure if this has legs though, as the ground is rented from a third party landlord.
BTW I take it I should email my reply as well as use the recorded delivery.
Thank you.0 -

All you have then is proof of non-delivery. Not quite what you want.
If you are going to use Royal Mail services, then standard first class post, with a free Certificate of Posting at the Post Office counter is all that is needed. First Class post is deemed delivered two working days later.0 -

You've got a bit of time before the deadline, so do try to get it cancelled via McDs first. I'd complain to both the organ grinder and the monkey simultaneously.
Paradoxically, failure by them to cancel will enable you and your family to adopt a much healthier lifestyle by banning any further visits to their outlets ..., and let them know that you will be doing so, because one of their burger and chips runs the risk of having a £100 surcharge added to it!. Only as businesses lose business as a result of their customers' harassment at the hands of their agents, will the penny (no longer) drop!
Not by Recorded/Registered Mail - as per KeithP's advice. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
