  • After sitting on hold for 55 mins it it was confirmed that the correct address is (for the record);

    hearings.stoke.countycourt@justice.gov.uk

    So I'm glad I checked
  • Ok. Today’s the day…

    At court now, wish me luck!

    Judge said that the land owner authority was acceptable, the signs were fine, the "you'll be fine" is not relevant but did tell them to remove some of the additional fees and they lowered the interest charged from 8% to 2%

    Sorry to read that but at least you had the spurious "debt admin" fee removed.

    That is a shame.  Sorry to hear that but it will be nothing you did wrong.  Well done for fighting it and you've gained life experience of this scam and cost them far more than they will now recoup.

    Sounds like the Judge wasn't having it about the false added DRA fee of £60 or £70.  Quite right - pure extortion.

    As always, when parking cases go as far as a hearing, much depends upon how prominent the Judge thinks the signs are, and also whether the Judge is mainly 'pro parking bullies' or pro consumer.

    Nothing you can do about the latter if they are biased against you (a few are), and the former is just down to the Judge's opinion on the evidence before them.

    Make sure you are ready to get your revenge by replying to the DLUHC public consultation when it opens.  This sort of crap inflated money-grabbing should be capped at £50 or £70 with no false DRA fee add-ons that don't exist.

    Hopefully you've seen the posts about the upcoming Public Consultation about the level of Parking Charges and the top thread you need to bookmark and set email alerts for, so you don't miss the Consultation.

  • It sucks but no one was injured and we live and learn.

    It was never about the money and always about the principal so I'm gutted that I didn't win.

    I'll check out the consultations

    Thanks again for your assistance all but in particular @Coupon-mad and @Le_Kirk.

    Well done for fighting these parasites. It is worth it for the experience and that we won't be bullied.
