Tesco mobile bill...confused.

About 2 weeks ago I changed my billing account so that a direct debit is made with my Monzo account.

Monzo confirmed as much last Tuesday.

My tesco mobile billing period runs upto 16th of each month and payment taken on first working day of the next.

So, my balance should have been paid yesterday (Monday).

Right now, I have a billing invoice for x amount. However, when I go into 'make single payment' (cos my initial assumption was either the DD mandate was too late for clearance or it somehow lapsed) it says my outstanding overdue balance is £0. However, no money has gone from Monzo. No money has either been taken from the previous account I had this set up for. So, am a bit confused to say the least. Any one have any idea?

    Your post is a bit confusing TBH but if your billing date is the 16th why do you think it would have been paid yesterday? And why are you trying to make a manual payment on a DD mandate?

    Not that confusing; payment date is last Monday, payment not taken so they try to make a manual one.

    It may well be that the new bank didn't set up the dd in time for the first payment and the network hasn't yet been informed that it bouced. That would meet all the facts.
