PCN - template letter

Hi all
I am just about to use the blue wording of the template letter for 1st appeal. I have just got back from holiday and I see the reduced rate expires today!
Re the template do I just copy that verbatim or do I delete any paragraphs that don't relate to the claim ie it was a 20 min overstay of free parking. Basically do I just put the whole template wording on as it is? For example -
- If the allegation involves an alleged overstay of minutes, your evidence must include the actual grace period agreed by the landowner. (I'm asking the company to provide this? - it's not asking me to provide the grace period?) If you fail to evidence the actual grace period that applies at this site or suggest that only one period applies, this will be disregarded as an attempt to mislead. In the absence of evidence, it will be reasonably taken to be a minimum of twenty minutes (ten on arrival and ten after parking time) in accordance with the official BPA article by Kelvin Reynolds about 'observation periods' on arrival being additional and separate to a 'grace period' at the end.
- in all cases, you must include a close up actual photograph of the sign you contend was at the location on the material date. (again I'm asking the company to show photographs of the signs?..that's not asking me to show photographs of the sign if you get what I'm asking?)
thank you

Just use the template with no additions, deletions or modifications. It is designed to do a job without shooting yourself in the foot by admitting who was driving. The PPC probably won't read it anyway and just reject it out of hand (although some PPCs issue cancellations straight away) but it shows you have engaged (should it come to small claims court) and it should (if the PPC is BPA) get you a POPLA code.0

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams so consider complaining to your MP.
Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.
Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
Further to the last I popped into one of the shops on this car park and explained that the driver would have been shopping there at the time. I was advised that they would try and 'sort something out' if the notice was brought in and they advised me not to contact the parking company at all. Is this something that would be advised on here or should I still send the appeal?0

See if the shop will cancel it. Do not miss any appeal deadlines though. If they don't sort it in time get the appeal in.0 -
try the cancellation first .... but .... but ..... do not forget the appeal...
this is what the newbies thread states ...
who is the PPC?

Of course it is what we recommend, that's why the sticky thread tells you to do the complaint first, every time.
Issue date was 19/08. Only just got back from holiday so that's why only just gone into the store. (appeal date 16/09?) How would I know it would be cancelled in time? Should the PCN be left with them or get them to take a copy?0 -
Obviously NEVER Leave the PCN with them, but get on with it, no questions!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi all. Went in to store and asked for it to be cancelled. They took the number and said they would email them but told me not to contact TPS. Now the advice on here is to do both so is it worth me sending the template and adding on to the bottom that the manager has contacted you to cancel this notice so therefore do not contact me again on this matter?0
