Bookings.com Question

My Wife has booked a Girls weekend away in Amsterdam in October. Booked in February with Bookings.com. She has just revisited the Hotel on TripAdvisor and was found all recent reviews were one out of five. The most recent showing pictures of bed bugs.

Reviewing the booking.com details looks like cancellation would involve lost of all money.

Beyond trying to mitigate against what has been highlighted, is there any other opinions?

Did she book the cheaper non-refundable rate category?

I never book the cheaper non-refundable rate, too risky.
Pay later if the best option

    Me too.
I've just cancelled a stay in Manchester because of recent reviews and rebooked a better place.
    My opinion:
I think the OP's wife may have come unstuck by opting for the cheaper price.
  • You could try talking to them,I booked hotel in America via expedia, then about week before I was due to go I heard from relative in the same town that the hotel had been raided for drugs etc anyway when I spoke to them they refunded me.

You don't say if your booking was non-refundable or not...

Will the bed bugs be gone by October and will there be new procedures in place to prevent recurrence?
Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.

She is where she is! Heading to a hotel where the reviews have crashed in the last six month one of the most recent with pictures of bed bug bites and bed bugs.

    Presently working on mitigation.
