Amazon super saver delivery

Options
question for anybody who has used Amazon 'super saver delivery' before :

Under my tracking details on My Account it says my order was dispatched on Friday 16 November, expected delivery date was Tuesday 20 November (three days ago).

It says that the order has been completed - does this mean it has been delivered to the wrong address (which happens with my address a lot) or could it still be in transit?

Not sure whether it usually says something like 'order in progress' ??

Thanks

TT x

My last super saver delivery was despatched to arrive I think 17th and didn't turn up until 21st so maybe they are just behind at the moment

Super save delivery CAN be slow (and they do warn you of this).
If you need something quickly then don't use it.

Either pay extra or order early to get the saving.

Some of these items use the Home delivery network.
This will be a bloke or gal who live somewhere in your area delivering stuff in their own car.
They don't get paid shed loads so they may well wait until they have a few parcels in your town before delivering.
So it may well be in someone's home awaiting delivery.
So no it doesn't mean it's lost at all.
  • Ah ok. Thanks.

I don't mind waiting a bit longer for the delivery (it's a Christmas present) but i think Amazon should make it clearer what is happening with it and what status it is. So instead of saying 'Completed' on the tracking it should say 'awaiting delivery'.

But i guess that would cost them more

i don't think there is any tracking

i think completed means they have despatched it
  • Under 'my account' it says 'track packages' and that's where it says 'completed orders'.

This is what confuzzled me :o

    Hi

This is what has just happened to us. We ordererd an item and the first part was in stock and delivered by the home delivery network thing on the day Amazon said. We were also able to track it. The second part which was not in stock at the time was apparently despatched last friday with delivery estimate Monday 19th, and this by super saver delivery. thursday came and still no delivery so I emailed Amazon and all I got back was a reply saying that they have a back log and that it could take an additional 2-3 days. This confused me as the item has been despatched, so the postal company responsable have the delay? I am confused. Plus they do not offer a tracking service for the super saver delivery so I have no idea where the item is and it was quite expensive. Will let you know when it turns up.

    Thanks

    Hi

Doesn't it say anywhere by what method it was despatched? (I can't remember where it said it)

The last order I placed with them, three items, supersaver delivery (a book, a calendar and a PS2 game) were all sent separately anyway, and each by a different method (one royal mail, one via courier and one via home delivery network).

One arrived two days after ordering, and BEFORE the delivery estimate, one within the estimate and the other a couple of days after - and *think* the home delivery one was the slowest.

A previous order didn't turn up at all, but Amazon happily and quickly replaced it.
  • It just says 'Shipped via a Super Saver Delivery carrier'

    no other info

I've got same thing, and have emailed to see if its been lost, as it says dispatched on 16th

The only time I had that, the item never turned up. After contacting Amazon when it had not appeared after a number of days, it transpired that it was sent by TNT post and they claimed that they had delivered it but had no tracking to prove it!

I was happy with Amazon, though, as they sent me a replacement by Royal Mail 1st Class and it arrived next day!
