No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries September 2019

At the beginning of the year I set out to Finish 19 makeup products in 2019. I decided not to include staples like foundation, primer and concealer but products that take time to finish. Was adding my recent eyeshadow and lipgloss to the list and found that I have finished 18 items already. They are :-

1 Blush
7 lipgloss/lip lacquer
1 lipstick
4 pans of eyeshadow
3 face powders
1 highlighter
1 cream eyeshadow primer

Feel pretty accomplished. Wonder what my 19th product will be. My Bobbi Brown Shimmerbrick has significant pan in it so maybe.

VALM - good idea and progress, I should try something similar.

3 bottles of shower gel re-filled from Zero Waste Shop. That was my "resolution" at the start of the year, cutting the plastic usage. I haven't bought a single bottle fo shower gel in 2019 and I really like Faith in Nature shower gels. Re-filling doesn't cost me more either and I often buy things like chickpeas, lentils from the same shop when visiting.

I have UU'ed a candle this week as well - Peckniffs Aromatherapy Deep-Sleep Candle 150 grams. I bought this from TKMaxx a while back and
burnt it in my bedroom, before going to bed. I found it relaxing to be fair. If I find the same again, I probably repurchase.
Candles are part of my "stash" too. I also have a lot of supplements and vitamins as part of my stash and trying to use them. I might give away some on Olio app soon.

Olio is mainly to give away unwanted food rather than throwing it away and I like it. They also have a non-food section. Un fortunately, not a lot of users in my area.

Opi coca colour red nail polish from a beauty box. WMB? Absolutely love the colour but was very disappointed in the durability of the nail considering OPI is supposed to be a premium brand.

1 bottle of natural glycerin from Boots to make my own mixture with glycerin once I finish the horrible manufactured one from Boots.

Starting to feel like I'm really getting somewhere now. I think there are only a handful of products where I have more than one of them. Going to try and keep up the no buy for the rest of the year. I may get some gifts, and I will replace essential items though.

I visited my local Oxfam shop to donate some items and bought 2 things from them:

1 Ole Henriksen Glow Dark Spot Toner - half price nearly
1 Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid, for a £5

I wanted to try both so didn't want to miss the opportunity when I saw them. They had few other things I could buy but decided against it, like Ren Glow Tonic.

Liz Earle Skin Repair Moisturiser 50ml - replaced with another the same and then I will be trying plastic free options.


Friendly Soap Patchouli & Sandalwood soap bar - love this for the face in the morning and have already replaced it. I cut the bars into 5 slices rather than putting the whole thing out at once as it is quite soft, there is less waste this way.


Revolution Foundation Stick in F4 - WBA but have other foundations to finish first.

Two UUs from last night:

Nature Republic Real Nature Mask Sheet Avocado WMBA. This was nice. Very nourishing for my skin.

Oral B Satin Tape 25m WDBA and will do. Cheap and effective. Will buy some more tomorrow after I've finished work.

And one TA from this morning:

Oral B Pro Expert Toothpaste sample I know this is bad, but this is a disgusting toothpaste. The taste and texture is horrible. Blegh.
