No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries September 2019

  • Hello everyone. I'm a newb here but have been a long time follower of this forum since way back - I have finally decided to bite the bullet and join with a serious case of buyer's remorse after i splurged almost £90 on a Beauty Pie skincare haul, some of which I needed (and most of which I definitely didn't).I haven't got a single empty this month so far, but am hoping this will make for a flying start to October.

After today I will probably have enough serum and moisturiser to last me a full year, possibly more. I am on a strict replacement-only no-buy, and I'm afraid my stash is too expansive for a list right now, but I can always count INs vs OUTs to keep track. I'll do a stock take when my numbers are a bit more manageable.

I seem to have tons of body creams and butters as although I do enjoy them, I am lazy about applying them. So that will be an area of focus going forward.

Really looking forward to following you all some more, freeing up some cupboard space and hopefully saving myself [STRIKE]from myself[/STRIKE] a few bob in the process :) I'll update my INs when they arrive.

NARS Outlaw and NARS Gilda blush
    OPI A Definite Moust Have
    A fragrance
    Colourpop Supershock shadow : Bill
OPI mini lacquer Aurora Berry Alis

Challenge over and everything is still ongoing. The only item to be taken out is Bill which I’ve thrown away because it’s become dry.

Have signed up for 12 pans of Christmas Challenge on Facebook so will do this here too. 6 items will be makeup. 6 items cosmetic. So here goes

Shower gel - can’t remember the name of it but it was given to me as a gift. I think it’s gon off so the aim is to use it as makeup brush cleaner. Need to make the effort to clean them more.

Corresponding body cream. Again, I think it’s gone off but want to use it as foot cream.

Eye cream - same one from my PP List this month. Need to make the effort to use this more.

Tweak’d hair mask. Not going to buy conditioner but use this every time I wash my hair.

Essie cuticle scrub. Have been neglecting this for a while.

Primary Pomegranate and Black Tea fragrance. Have this in the bathroom to use as room spray.

Smashbox Full Exposure palette. Want to finish the shimmery shadow I have deported and a matte shade. This was my Pan Thatt Palette for the year but I haven’t managed to pan more than 4 shadows from it.

Rich Girl from Too Faced Chocolate Gold. Have hit pan so hopefully can finish.

Colourpop Supershock shadow Birthday Cake. Have hit pan. Just want to keep using.

MAC On The Line lipgloss. Bit of a gimme as I’ve removed the stopper however when this done want to concentrate on MAC Dare You lipstick which I’ve also been panning this year.

NARS Gilda and Outlaw blushers. Still ongoing. Want to hit pan in one by Christmas.

Bobbi Brown Shimmerbrick. Have massive pan in this and intend to scrape it into my little pot once my Smashbox shadow is done.

Back from Prague. Had a fab time. Some UUs

Sample of Floral Street Neon Rose. Would repurchase.

Sachets of body scrub, body wash and body lotion. WNBA as I have HG items in these categories but nice for travel. Hotel freebie conditioner.

Bought Benefit Goofproof from Sephora and MRM bought me a bottle of Victor and Rolf Flowerbomb Misnight on plane.

I also bought a highlighter brush and a Radiance Powder from BP, but don't count make up in this challenge. My favourite Radiance Powder (Soft Soul) has been discontinued :(:(, but the new one (Celestial) seems OK.

    One UU from last night:

Garnier Moisture Bomb Eye Tissue Mask Hyaluronic Acid and Orange Juice 6g WMBA. This was nice the last time I used one of these, but when I was using this one last night, it started to irritate my skin a bit. Hm.

I have received a Libre perfume sample today on the post. So a small IN.
Also UU'ed a candle - which I count as my part of stash, so one out.

What are your favourite candle brands if any? I only buy Yankee if on offer and I don't think it is worth the full price.

    Welcome Spinelli92.

asajj - I stopped buying Yankee Candles quite a few years ago as I found they didn't burn level anymore. I like Lily Flame, DW Home, This Works, Liz Earle and there is another brand but I've forgotten the name of it. I tend to buy most of mine in TXMaxx.

Yes, TKMaxx has a lot of nice ones! I will check these out. I'd like to try Beauty Pie candles at some point too.

    Welcome, Spinelli92!

Sold a Marc Jacobs perfume on EBay and Pixi Skin Tint as the colour doesn't match me, feels too orangey. 2 more Outs for September.

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation - love this and have already replaced it, I find it lasts really well and the coverage is good whilst still looking quite light. I do have some other foundations to use before I move onto a new one of these.

All in all I really enjoy melting wax tarts and have tried a few brands as, like you, I find the cost of YC extortionate. Having said that though I’ve found recently that the One Below shops sell YC original (not the insipid Home Inspirations range) for their original price (under a £1). The fragrances are the older ones but I’ve got over the excitement of new fragrances as they use the same generic ones over and over again.

I have tried Woodwink which are insipid, I think one called Grey Goose however love the Bath and Body Works melts. I buy mine from a site called Candles Risca. He offers free p&p on purchases over £30, offers a reward scheme and is prompt on delivery.
