You can tell who the banking apologists are on this forum a mile off, can't you?
    Apologist? I retrieved £20,000 in mis-sold PPI in 2012 :D

Nice! Was that credit card PPI? The big payouts tend to be the credit cards.

I actually wish I was mis-sold PPI - it's inadvertant savings account paying 8% interest.

It was a consolidation chain of loans front loaded with PPI.
  • Following twitter and the news today I can’t honestly believe thousands of customers are so stupid they expect to call on the last day and have a smooth ride. Guys you’ve had 8 years to complain, if you’re going to leave it until last minute the phones will be rammed and the website will crash. The banks aren’t to blame for laziness.

Eight years? The PPI scandal goes back at least two decades...

Well bully for you - so as an expert reclaimer, you cannot abide anyone newcomer trampling on "your" turf, is that it? Why be so condescending? You were once the gullible customer who took loans front ended with single premium PPI, remember? I must admit I never made that mistake - I've seen the sort of paperwork you'll have signed though - amazing what people will sign to get a loan even when the PPI added 20% or more to the balance of the loan!

The banks are responsible for the whole scandal and all its effects including this last minute rush - and they know it, because apart from RBS/Nat West earlier today, and the occasional need to hit the Back button if a busy error occurs, and have an immediate fresh go at opening the online forms, the websites generally are not crashing - they know they will have to answer for it if they allow that to happen while we are watching and reporting in forums like this. There is no need to use the phones if you use the online submission forms.

Accusing people of being banking apologist just because they don’t agree with your rant is as silly as me assuming you are mad at the deadline because you work for a CMC and your gravy train is ending.

For the record I have never worked for a bank and I have never had PPI, just happy I no longer have to listen to endless CWC adds on Planet Rock or get anymore unsolicited calls from parasites trying trying to get me to claim compo for something I never had.
