    Shaz,

Are you OK? I did not know this when I PM's you. Has anything happened tonight. Have you a neighbour you can call on, or a friends husband if things get out of hand. It looks like he knows he has done wrong and has apologised. What are you going to do? Does he have to apologise to the school as well?

Let us know how you are, OK.

    BM x

Been to the library today - not much in so will return the books I have (matians in the playground - not what I was looking for really) and go on another hunt for more books!!

I am trying to do it this way so I do not have to buy them, they are quite expensive aren't they?

Shaz I really feel for you I'm glad all has gone well so far :D
I forget are the boys under CAMHS?? If so you should have access to the duty psychatric care team failing that Social Services have a duty social worker on at all times if need be...I've never used either...*yet*but was told by our psych to ring if I ever needed help or advice.Might be worth investigating for future reference so you have a 'fallback' in place just in case you need an extra pair of hands at short notice
Is there a children with disabilities team at your local council??They may be able to help you access these services and some respite too ;)

If its any consolation we're having a really cr*p time too :rotfl: Its really

i'm ok thanks, son in bed now, and all is calm til morning lol
we were under camhs, when the boys were younger, we were discharged after daniel assaulted the doctor and wrecked the place, they said if he dosen't wanna talk to us there is nothing further we can do. he is now under a consultant pychiatrist, who prescribes him resperidone to help control his anger, the big side effect tho, is it has caused both kids to gain so much weight, and they still have major tantrums like today, tho they are less often than they used to be. duty social workers are a waste of time imho, they come out and talk to you, ring you next day and tell you sorry we have no services available. in wakefield where i am, my son does not meet the criteria for the children with disabilities team, they say its not in the kids intrest to go into respite. d&dd hope tommorrow is a better day for you
bm, i have nobody i can turn to for help one neighbour is elderly and lives on her own, the other side we dont speak. if worst happens my other son knows how to call for police assistance, not nice phoning them for help, but if it has to be done, then thats all there is.

Have they no schemes for respite in your home rather than overnight, via direct payments? SS normally arrange this.Other idea was one of my friends sons has a mentor..same sort of thing just under a different name..
Does the school provide any outreach help??

social services reckon my kids aren't disabled, they walk and talk etc, the fact they are on the highest rate of DLA care has no impact on social services, they say they have no funding. caring for the kids has had an impact on my health and i suffer from severe depression, my counsillor is going to try and get me my own social worker, seperate to the kids to assess my needs, but i wont hold my breathe this has been tried before.
daniel's school is good, its residential monday til fri, and that just leaves me with joshua, his school finishes at 2.45 and there is nothing for him to do, which is very tiring having to entertain him everyday. got to admit sometimes i just let him play on computer all evening, cos i'm so drained

Shaz I know just what you mean DS3 is obsessed with computers *as well as his army stuff* and some days you just have to let them chill out on there so you can stay sane...
It took us nearly 4 years to get a carers assessment here, only got it in the end due to the OAP's support worker I saw on the Estate :rotfl: I'm not THAT old but she knew which buttons to press to speed things up.
Just don't give up nagging them !!

Keep at 'em, shaz, you are ENTITLED to your own assessment of YOUR needs as a carer. I know my friend had to keep hassling to get any respite: one day I said to her "Well I suppose they know that your child isn't 'at risk' while in your care," and she just looked at me and said something like "Really?"

Hope tonight is calm and that tomorrow is OK too.

    Morning Shaz,

Hope all is calm this morning and that you are feeling better today. How is DS bearing up without school.

I do know what you mean about being stuck in - that is all we do tbh, I've been trying to get Ryan into something like Karate as I thought the discipline might help but no-one will take him under the age of 6. So all he does is want to sit and play with his train sets. Do you have a lakeside bowl near you? They have bowling on a Saturday morning for £1 a game for the kids - I took mione last week and it is better as if they decide they have had enough then you can just walk out without it having cost a fortune. I don't know how that would work for you but just a suggestion really. That is the only thing I can think of to do, we went to the soft play area and they put the sweets and crisps at the front, I found Ryan had nicked some crisps (after I refused to buy them for him) and was sitting up the top part of the play area eating them!! The thing in in those places you cannot keep an eye on them all the time as some of them have hidden bits so it's not worth the worry in going. I have times where I wish I could switch off from everything and let him get on with it but you always have to have one eye on the ball.

Just keep on at them love and you might get somewhere.

Someone pointed me in the direction of this site earlier this week and I was supposed to post it here but I forgot:

It is good for everyone else too, lots of info and message boards.
