  • Today is definitely a big girl pants day! Not really feeling it but I must not let the crap get me down. I'm working today which will be a good distraction, I need to speak to my boss and see if I can rearrage holiday in Aug but will struggle as I imagine the days are already taken now.

The scales were good this morning. The weight on the scales were more like I would normally see. I think it must have been that bloating and monthly hormone thingy when you just need to eat! Anyway this is the result I need to see!

No plans to spend any ££ today - but I do need to get the camping gear together. Batteries is what I need  to work out which ones I will need. Also need a canister of gas for the stove. Ordered a plates and bowls - just hope these come in time eeek!

Please everyone have a good day for me :)

  • Was quite distracted yesterday with lots of thoughts churning away, so much so it was difficult to concentrate at work but I hope today will be a better day.

Last night I had a chance to log into online banking and woo hoo there is £46.23 worth of monies from surveying & sitting on two accounts where I can nearly draw from, so this is definitely something to be cheerful about.

Started digging out camping gear last night and now feeling worried about how I'll actually get it all to the campsite! EEK and emailed a cab firm to find out how much the last leg of our journey will cost and I need to book tickets for return leg home on Sunday so that's tasks for today after work.

Ended up eating cake yesterday - yes I know I shouldn't but under the circumstances I just needed a pick me up, ah just call me Bridget!

I'm off for some early morning laps around the park.

  • Well I've only gone and done it! Found out yesterday that a member of the team at work is going on mat leave in October and I've only gone and put a suggestion to them that I add some more responsibilities on to my role and make my role full time for the term of the mat leave! Feeling quite giddy nervous about the challenge ahead but defo up for taking on more responsbilities and the extra ££ each month!! Waiting to hear what they say so fingers crossed. All I know it will be a busy time!

Apologies for being MIA - this weekend was the camping trip with my eldest and his classmates! As you can imagine camping with a big group of 9 year olds it was sugar fuelled madness, lots of noise, log fires, toasted marshmallows etc. Lots of fun but honestly this morning I feel ergh! I took the train as I don't drive, everyone else was in cars and oh boy I really wish I had my licence! Even so still did well lugging the tent plus umpteen bags around the country.

Due to camping trip and pre-camping equipment spends my spending budget is blown out of the water for this month so for the next 15 days I'll be laying low and just making the most of what we already have. Mind you I actually loved this weekend that much I'll probably be planning the next one with just us as a family. It was payday on Friday and I paid most of the monthly bills. If my calculations are correct I am now down to last 12 payments on the last 0% cc!

It was raining as we were packing up camp so last night I set up the tent in my kids bedroom - advantages of them staying at their dads! So will have fun later packing it back up into the bag.

Bit nervous of work this week, I'm terrible at worrying over things and well I have had my job on my mind and the extra work I have offered to take on. I know I can do the work, I just battle with myself over work anxiety but I know I am capable and feel ready for the challenge.

Right i'm off to take a bit of a walk before starting work.

  • Feeling like a lady on a mission I have lots to do! Tent finally packed away nice and dry and morning exercises complete! Cool box is the sort that packs away small - just need a video to figure out how to do it :(

I need to sort out some tickets for some days out I have organised with family - using voucher codes on cereal boxes to make it cheap as chips.

And a few other jobs - need to write a to do list!

  • Ergh! My littlest has woken up at silly o'clock and been sick! hump! He's ok in himself, typical of a tummy bug. So no school for him till next week.

Its school photos time and spent a small fortune on photo packs yesterday, we are splitting the packs and cost with ex H which helps but still eye watering £80 spend on my cc. At least I'll benefit from a bit of cashback! Normally buy extra photos and gift them in frames to family at Christmas. We don't really do gifts for adults anymore but this is a little "open it".

I'll admit I didn't get the jobs done I said I was going to do so today is playing catch up and nurse maid & go food shopping at somepoint too. My partner is home so he can look after the poorly bee.

  • A minor miracle has just taken place in the hive! Getting my eldest to tie shoe laces had become a challenge, however he cracked it this morning! He'll be test a lot this weekend on his new found skill!

Its 2nd jab day for yours truly, keeping my fingers crossed for no side effects.

Need to do food shopping today as we have little in and the kids are with me this weekend. Yesterday I finally sorted myself out with some new 'seatbelts' - ladies you know what I mean! Have been meaning to get some more for a while now but am so crap at spending money on myself I just kept putting it off. Anyway they are ordered for click and collect so just waiting to hear they have arrived.

  • Today has been a day of shot, shop & dig!

Now officially shot twice - covid jab that is! So far no side effects so chuffed about that!

Finally went food shopping - went to Aldi, bought quite a lot of stuff (walking around with a trolley is dangerous!), split the bill with OH so we spent just over £30 each and kitchen is looking a lot more fuller.

This afternoon before school pick up me and little bee started digging the garden - its really crap grass & moss and I really want better quality lawn on a shoestring so digging up the garden ourselves and haven't decided yet whether to turf or to seed. Whatever happens, I'm making the most of the wet weather and going to dig for England.

Tonight I have a date with a book, love buying them but not the quickest reader but tonight I have decided to chill with a glass of wine and book. Going to read The Thursday Murder Club.

  • After me posting yesterday about sitting down with a glass of wine and a book, I didn't in the end. I spent the time wisely and sorted out the mountain of washing which was everywhere! It took an age to sort out. But at least its done now. I need to do some cleaning today, water the plants etc.

So feeling very smug this morning - no after effects from the jab. Which is most welcome indeed :)

If I have one wish for today its that the weather does not follow what is predicted for it! The boys school is hosting a summer fundraiser event and its looking horrific this afternoon :(. I'm keeping everything crossed its wrong and will be fine! We'll most certainly try to go.

The other major task I need to do is sort out birthday cards - I have a few in July and thinking it would be lovely to make some personalised cards.

I have downloaded the couch to 5k app and determined to give it a go today.
