Nothing worse than a bad back (except maybe toothache!) I had an awful time with mine after my first two children (15months apart) and it took two more children, a ton of yoga, regular chiropractor appointments and a child who would only be carried in wraps and slings to 'fix' it. At its worse the lack of sleep was horrific, and made it worse.

Hopefully yours is a quick fix.

  • Wow I've only been away from here for a few days and its all changed again! Another new layout to navigate!

Thankfully my back is 'back to normal' and sleeping much better which I am pleased about. Not sure how long I could have lasted without some shut eye.

This week I have been busy at work and the surveys are surprisingly keeping me busy. Today I have been spending what feels like a fortune on some camping gear. Next weekend I'm taking the eldest kid camping with some other families from his class. Now everyone else is driving except yours truly and quite apprehensive about it. We'll be getting the train with our belongings in true hiking sprit oh and a hand truck! So I needed quite a bit of the basics inc the hand truck. Used £50 gift card I had with cashback points from a certain online shop. Will tot up the spends and will update diary tomorrow.

  • You know those days when you wake up in a grump - yeah that's me right now, enough said it will disappear at some point today, so upwards and onwards to brighter things

I completely forgot to share a bit of good fortune. As I've noted already in my diary the last few weeks I have been getting to grips with survey sites and have been pleasantly surprised how its not been as bad as I first thought it might be. I was offered a survey to do a bit of a mystery shop, take some photos of a food product I had to purchase and give a review in a survey. Well I completed my parts but had a bit of an issue with the site. I contacted the company and had quite a good exchange of emails. Initially I was told the survey had now closed and so couldn't get the reward money, however I thought well why not just send them what I had done anyway which I did. They only came back and then offered me the original survey fee! I'm still waiting for the money in my account but if this does materialise that will be excellent. Its £30 so definitely not to be sniffed at.

This morning I paid out for next batch of driving lessons so that's £260 from savings and yesterday's camping shopping trip was £122.53 (after £50 cashback discount) and I still need one or two more items. So this is probably why I am in a grump! Hate spending money when it takes so long to get it!

Today I have housework and deliveries arriving so a quite day at home planned. The weather forecast isn't great anyway. Bring back the sun!

  • Today turned out to be a no spend day - yay!

All the camping equipment ordered arrived as well which is good and i'm getting out of my mardy pants mood.

This weekend I am determined to have no junk food so please send me healthy thoughts! Admittedly today I've eaten crisps and some salted nuts but from tomorrow that's it cold turkey!

  • Saturday morning and im sat here in my gym clothes and feeling less than motivated, will do a work out today even if it kills me! My gyms skort is as an elastic band around my legs grrr! they were too small when I bought them last year and still as tight :( Logged my breakfast in the app I use and ready to go!

Need to take eldest to pharmacy - he's woken up with a red eye! No idea what is causing it but need to get it checked out.

Taking the kids to local community gardens for a forest school type workshop and have driving lesson this afternoon. Will need to get one or two snacks from the shop as we are going out to Science museum tomorrow and making a picnic to take with us.

Have a good day everyone :)

I'm with you on the diet and exercise. I got on the scales this morning and was horrified. I can't run just now but I will have to make an effort to walk more. I hope the chemist can fix your eldest.

Hope you managed the work out. I got out in a 10k walk yesterday, in the rain.

I imagine your son has the start of conjunctivitis, hope you got the drops needed.

  • Today was a nice day, thought I had tickets booked for one of the big museums only to find I hadn't! Mummy fail! Complete shame as I had made the picnic at 7am this morning with my little helper! So we turned the day into a picnic at the park local to us. The kids were more than happy with their lot and it certainly shows its the little things which are important to them and its not all about big spends.

As I have said in my diary in the past few days I have been feeling not the best, hormones are an absolute nightmare at times. Last night I slept like a queen and woke up feeling a bit more brighter and relaxed. Spent this morning re-booking the big museum for a weekend in the next few weeks and went for extras and paid for some things to do (as a treat).  Feeling happy in doing that I then researched and nearly booked a short camping trip with all four of us in the school holidays. This was all fine until the boys dad came to collect them. He dropped some big bombshells regarding the kids and - all for his own benefit, plans are now cancelled and honestly I just feel like crap. My dad was surprising really good to chat to on the phone about it - I have a bit of a strange relationship with him but he's gone through the emotions of bringing up kids in divorced marriage so at least he could relate to what I had to say. It wasn't quite the fathers day talk I was expecting but I guess that is what fathers day is all about. Although I feel pants, I didn't reach for the junk which is a victory in itself and tomorrow will invest time in my morning stretches and walk around the park, this will definitely be a much needed perk up.

  • Ex partners/husbands can be horrible. Before lockdown my children's Dad told them he could take thrm on holiday that year because he has 3 stag dos and 'it was fime he put himself first'. My daughter is older now and doesn't speak to him. Children remember how they are treated. Sending a hug x
