DO NOT GO TO THEM!!!!
They are con men, tried ripping us off saying the tyres were bald yet when we disagreed and took it to the dealership, they advised we still had at least 10,000 miles left on them.
Secondly, they once jabbed a screwdriver in a fleet vehicles tyres just to get money when it was in for an mot. Quite literally sabotage your car. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

So you're saying that you don't know what the legal requirements are? (It's the driver's responsibility - nobody else).
Nor how to use a tread depth gauge?0 -
PS: The yellow dot is nowhere near the correct position.
The red dot should be used in preference, provided the rim is marked.
However, the fitter is usually a professional. not a craftsman, he bungs the tyre on any old how, because it is much faster than taking the care to line things up, and he is going to balance it anyway, so a bit of extra weight doesn't hurt.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

Really?
Given that a "screwdriver jabbed in a tyre" will leave an immediate flat (unlike, say, a nail which will plug its own hole), hard to see how they would have claimed the damage was there when it drove in unless they left the screwdriver in it???0 -
Had the exact deal - all 4 tyres for £200. That description someone said about your car shaking to pieces between 50-70 mph is exactly what happened after. Also one of the front tyres loses air so quickly and had to be resealed. All of that was sorted by a local small garage for £25. Might have been £15 actually.Single woman doing it on my own... asda tyres do the same size for £40 a corner fitted and yes I know it has nothing to do with asda bur it shows £200 is not such a great deal anyway.0

You might think that changing a tyre is so simple that noone could possibly screw it up.
You might not have been to Kwik Fit before.0 -
Just watch while they work, it's easy to see all stages of work and how they balance the wheels. I use local KwikFit and had no issues so far. I regularly change summer to winter tyres and did two MOTs on previous car. I probably wouldn't trust them with any serious work but they can do my tyres. They know I live across the street and would hassle them if something was wrong.
Also, they usually charge me £60 to change and balance tyres, while independent garage does it for £100.0 -
Since then I have bought a depth reader however when there’s a nail in one tyre and they try telling you the rest are bald even though they aren’t so there’s no point in doing a puncture repair and may as well get 4 new tyres on the car instead???This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
