Asda v Tesco online

Do you think we could start a campaign to get Morrisons to do online shopping? Wouldn't that be fab?
I use Tesco and Asda (occasionally) as someone else has said it depends so much on local conditions as to who is best. I used Asda for about a year and initially they were fine but their poor service and the amount of substitutions (over 50% of one order) got so ridiculous I had to change.
Went with Tescos and i find them so much better but I do miss the pricematching at asda!MFW Start Sep 07 £79484, Now £587740 -
i would love morrisons shopping online.
but seeing as if i walk to end of my road ( about 5 sec walk) i need to walk straight down hill and morrisons is about 15 mins away it would feel very lazy. but hey i can be lazy. i do find tho morrisons trolleys are a night mare and with 2 kids and bring preg i do dread having to push a trolley.0 -
did my first online shop with asda 2 weeks ago. it arrived late, but there was a reason the van broken down. the driver phoned and expllained what had happened. when he did arrive, he was very helpful, even said he would help put everything into the cupboards etc. we can only get asda home delivery here. tesco doesn't do it.Vegetarian's Do Not!!!! eat fish

I'm very excited (what a sad life I lead
) because Asda are to start deliveries to my area next week.
Now I already have a trolley 'picked' on Tesco.com for delivery in the next couple of weeks but now wondering whether I might try Asda instead.
Any hints, please, on what's good from asda? I'm quite happy to try own brands, value/smart price etc?
Five out of nine delivery's from ASDA have been late for witch we have received one e voucher covering a future delivery charge.
In fact just this minute the driver has called me to tell me that he cant find my address on his sat nav and can i come and meet him. I draw the line at the fifth time of hearing such a request.
My only criticism of TESCO is the extortionate cost of delivery and the prices are higher in general.
We are now re-considering using the Tesco home delivery service again.
The above comments refer to ASDA Home delivery service, Eastlands in Manchester.0 -
re the pricematch policy. I got a tesco delivery the other week and had ordered 10 of the doves farm organic flour and they had sent 7 bags of hovis and 3 bags of carrs (neither organic) and the overall cost was about £3+ what it should've been. I called to complain and they gave me a refund of the difference - they also refunded me half of my delivery cost. I also ordered quite a few of the johnsons baby products when they were on buy two get 100 points free and I didn't get any of them. They gave me a £6 (roughly the number of point I had lost) voucher to use the next time I shopped with them.

Thanks for your input everyone!
Its really interesting to read about the differing experiences you all have had. I am going to give Asda a try though might not be till after christmas - I already have my last pre-christmas basket picked at tesco.
I'll probably continue using Tesco for the majority anyway - after reading recommendations on OS threads I've tried and tested a lot of their own brands and found them to be very good - just tried their wheat biscuits (weetabix-type) and the choc digestive and rich tea biscuits and they are all very good so will be regular purchases in future - I used to be a brand snob
I'd love a morrisons online delivery too! our local one is relatively small but rarely had trouble with stuff being unavailable. My only criticism would be that they are stocking more and more of their own label and so less choice, particularly biscuits, cakes, pies etc; (I seem to remember Asda doing this years ago - only stocked their own label biscuits which was a nightmare as I used to buy for the office and colleagues were all brand snobs and wanted Fox's) I dont like much of morrisons own brand bakery stuff which is a great excuse for a visit to Greggs or Janes Pantry when I'm in town! :j
... don't throw the string away. You always need string!
