I've just received a text saying that the Warm Home Discount Scheme is now open for 2019/20 applications.

Yes I received my text message this morning and submitted my application straight away, I got an email to confirm the application has been received and that payments would be issued between Jan and March 2020.

I can't apply for the British Gas warm home scheme because I don't have my electricity with them is this right? Also really mad because my electricity supplier ended applications on August 14th.

Yes that’s correct, you apply through your provider. Who is yours with?

Im with SSE (electric only we don't have gas) and they haven't even opened the scheme for this year yet.

I'm with Utilita and applications for their broader group that I qualify for were 7th till 14th August:(

Unfortunately that's the way it goes, there has to be a cut off, its your responsibility to keep an eye out for when applications open and to submit your application, least next year you know to keep checking their website during the summer.

I used to be with British Gas for both fuels and I knew the dates to apply. I just didn't realise you had to have your electricity supply with them to qualify.
